Helping your congregants grow from casual church attenders to passionate disciples of Christ can be a challenge. Compassion® would love to support you in this journey! Relationships are central to Jesus’ teaching and are key to growing fully devoted followers of Jesus. Compassion’s child development program empowers your church to share — and receive — Jesus’ love through sponsorship relationships. A sponsor’s special one-to-one relationship with a child in poverty creates an environment for life-changing spiritual growth that benefits both the sponsor and child. Compassion child sponsorship is also an incredible discipleship tool and an opportunity for your church to connect with the developing world and engage in global missions. What’s the best way to introduce Compassion’s child development program to your church? It can start with the Compassion Experience! Hosting the Compassion Experience, a FREE event for churches, will transform lives in your church and community. RESOURCES FOR HOSTING COMPASSION SUNDAY AT YOUR CHURCH

VOLUNTEERS

You need 30-40 volunteers throughout the weekend to help at the Compassion Experience, which is typically open to visitors Friday to Monday. Volunteers come from your church, and if needed, Compassion can help recruit volunteers by contacting local sponsors.

PROMOTION

Please promote the Compassion Experience on your church’s website and social media platforms prior to and during your event. We have resources to help you accomplish this. The Compassion Experience can be a great outreach tool.

Child sponsorship is an opportunity for individuals or families in your church to put faith into action. During your Compassion Sunday message, present child sponsorship as a discipleship tool to follow Christ’s example of compassion.
