Equatorial Guinea is a country in central Africa nestled in the Gulf of Africa, with a populaton of 1,222.442 inhabitants, statstcal data dated September 18, 2015; It limits the north with Cameroon, Gabon on the south and the Gulf of Guinea, with more maritme extension, which is of 320.320 nautcal miles, and a surface area of 28,052.46 km2, divided in Mane land and Island , Region; the insular region includes the following islands: Bioko Island (where is the natonal capital is Malabo), formerly known as Santa Isabel Island; Annobon Island and Elobeyes (Elobey Grande Elobey Chico). •

The great maritme extension Equatorial Guinea qualifes as an eminently maritme country, it makes us to focus on all aspects that make transport and maritme and port actvites; for this, we are fnding improvement solutons in order to enable the maritme sector, hydrographic as one of the major contributors to the natonal economy to the Treasury.•

The Ministry of Transport Post and Communicaton as the regulatory body of maritme actvites, is currently comprised of four directons as follows:

1. General Director of Merchant Marine. 2 General Director of Ports. 1. General Director of maritme signals.2. General Director of Ship Registry and Maritme Company

The four major directon Maritme binding actvity of Equatorial Guinea, are working closely to improve services, maritme , port and Hydrographic actvites in the Country. As a sign of these works to improve the maritme sector; very recently we had the visit of the technical of the American Coast Guard, which conducted inspecton visits of natonal busiest ports. Also in these tmes we have a delegaton from Spain Mercantle Company CERSA AFRICA SL, for technical assistance and consultng structuring levels of port services and the navy of our country. 1.

EQUATORIAL GUINEA STRATEGIC TO THE HYDROGRAPHIC POLICIES

The natonal plan is draw is to made new infrastructure of the hydrographic, and Cartographic, Equatorial Guinea as heling the port actvites, and contnue use the old colonial infrastructure hydrographic from 1972, untl now.

•Long-term plans have been marked as specifc objectves of the natonal maritme policy: The natonal maritme management shall meet the following specifc objectves:

Promote the growth of the natonal merchant feet to transport general cargo, oil, fshing Hydrographic and tourism, ensuring their agility, efciency, reliability and compettveness, to ensure the best conditons of quality and freight running with internatonal standards.

Ensuring the professional competence of staf of Merchant Marine, compatble with the requirements of current technology to ensure the recruitment and retenton of such personnel in any labor market academic levels. •

Regulate the actvites of companies and shipping agencies, guiding their services guarantee quality, efciency and cost compettve internatonally.

Develop maritme actvites in a healthy and sustainable environment, through the care and conservaton of the ocean, to prevent deterioraton and to restore it if it has been afected by applying management based on maintaining the ecosystem and supported by monitories permanent scientfc. •

DATA COLLECTION, REPORTING AND MONITORING SYSTEMS

Gathering informaton from port actvites and maritme Fulfll commitments voluntarily providing data and contribute to their collecton are two of the main administratve problems faced by managers. Ofen, the provider believes that providing the data is a waste of tme, meaningless, and / or fear that this informaton may favor third partes. Experience clearly shows that there are two characteristcs that favor the ability to collect accurate and tmely data. They are: ØMutual trust between staf and the authorites (including data confdentality); ØThe ease with which can be collected, compiled and distributed data. ØNatonal Maritme and Seaports. ØMachines and Port Equipment. •

The structure and actvites carried out in the positons of the naton make and obtain a partcular type of machinery, such as sliding gantries and cranes esplanade, forks, wheelbarrows, trucks, etc. Maritme Security and Protecton. Process of eliminaton of oil spill into the ocean. The Republic of Equatorial Guinea despite being one of the oil producing countries, fortunately so far has not known what is in the above dimensioned lot: spill oil into the ocean. But as a preventve measure, we are taking the most of the requirements of the IMO. IMO adopted a Code Casualty Investgaton mandatory and go along with the implementaton of the identfcaton system and long-range tracking of ships (LRIT), when the Maritme Safety Commitee (MSC) met in May in London to its 840 session. •

•• Informaton seaports and ships • length of the coast (Km2) • Type and number of ships in internatonal trade operatons • They have partcipated in an internatonal project development or capacity building? • Laws relatng to port and marine The laws linking the port and the marina are all that are linked to compliance with internatonal conventons such as: a) The Internatonal Conventon for the Safety and Human Life at Sea (SOLAS) b) The Polluton Preventon at Sea (MARPOL) c) Communicatons System (INMARSAT), etc, etc.

•There is a school or special insttuton for maritme training and management of seaports? At the moment we have no school or insttuton for maritme training; but as we said the plan of the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is to promote all sectors and in this case the maritme with the constructon of large infrastructures, so we can include this idea. Companies in charge of the constructon and expansion of ports of natonal scope, so far bearing the task of training personnel who will be employed in these felds, each group in its work secton as you can see in the following images. •
