From your Vicar …. After the season of Lent and observance of Passion Week, once again we

are approaching Easter, the greatest event of Christianity. Easter is the

celebration of Christ’s victory over death, satan and the world. For us, it

is the occasion of imbibing the hope and power of resurrection over all

demonic forces of life. May our celebration be an occasion of affirming

and assimilating the meaning and message of Easter again.

It is with humble and heartfelt gratitude I am writing this last and 36th

letter “From your Vicar” in the News Letter of Epiphany MT Parish.

Through this page, each month, I tried to inform and educate you on

certain themes of responsible Christian life, practical implications of

Spirituality, meaning of our call and commitment etc. All my efforts of

these 3 years were centered on one thing - to prepare my people to be

closer to God.

I have given attention to my people and their needs than any personal

gains or benefits. I am glad to share with you that we as a Parish enjoyed

and experienced God’s blessings abundantly in the last 3 years. We are

thankful to God and you all for your prayers, love and affection. His Grace

the Mar Thoma Metropolitan has assigned me to Bethel MTC, Kolar Road,

Bhopal, MP, Tel. 755 249 5595 and Ittarcy Mission from May 1st, 2010.

I request you to continue to uphold us in your prayers, continue to

strengthen the Parish through your prayer, participation and sharing of

resources and continue the mission of the Church under the experienced

and eminent leadership of the new Vicar Rev. Oommen V. Varkey.

I had the honor of serving with one of God’s workers, Rev. P.J. Varghese as

lay leader during his first year at our church. Even during that short time, I

saw that Achen’s attention to detail which enabled him to transition into

and carry out his leadership role very efficiently. Achen, Shanthi

kochamma, Kshema & Susheel made it very clear from early on that their

ministry is indeed a family ministry. During their three years here, all four

of them were involved throughout the various organizations of our parish

and within the North East region as well. On behalf of our parish, I wish

Achen & family continued success in their ministry. Know that wherever

you go, our prayers are with you and our God will continue to guide you

and give you all that you need to carry out His wonderful work.
