4wd Qld Training and Information Club

• This new club has been established, with objects as follows: o To serve as a feeder club for Four Wheel Drive Queensland. o To organise four wheel drive and camping trips for members. o To provide related training courses for members. o To comply with the Four Wheel Drive Queensland code of conduct.

• This will enable us to run training courses for the wider 4wd community, while encouraging participants to join established clubs.

Driver Awareness Training

• Training material for this course is provided to clubs by 4wd Qld as requested.

• Feedback was provided to clubs who submitted their own training material for approval by 4wd Qld.

• Certificates for completion of this course can be issued by 4wd Qld at a cost of $25 (subject to approval of course content).

Insurance Report July 2017

National insurance contract

• Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) information has been sent to clubs. Also

available via a link on 4WDA website.

• To ensure club activities are covered by insurance, you need to record (in

hard copy):

o Approval of club trips and activities in advance

o Attendance at club trips and activities

• 4wd Qld strongly recommends completion of risk assessments for club

activities. This helps to identify and manage risks, as well as provide evidence

of due diligence in the event of an incident. Contact me if you want a copy of a

risk assessment template (will be on our website soon).

• In the event of an incident which may give rise to an insurance claim, contact

AON (details in the newsletters) and me.

Motor vehicle (4wd, campers, and caravans) insurance through A.J. Gallagher

• Don’t forget to advise your club members that A.J. Gallagher can arrange

insurance for your 4wd, camper or caravan. They are happy to discuss

options including vehicle mods, reduced mileage
