Representations! In this chosen music video, males and females are represented in a particular way. The male characters are the dominant figures and are often surrounded by women who are not really wearing much. The dominance of the male can be shown in one particular clip of the music video when he is standing on a podium above the ladies who are dancing around him. He looks like the leader of the pack. Females are half-clothed and dancing provocatively, they also appear to be following the lead of the male character. These characters appear to conform to the stereotypes that are often represented in the genre of music, in hip-hop songs its typical to see women not wearing much this is featured in this video.

Anti-Realist and Regressive The video is very much anti-realist because of the representations that it gives out to the audience. This also means that it is also regressive this is because the representations are negative and dated and do not represent accurately the world today. For example you can see this by watching how the girls surround the main male character and dance on his cue. This clearly demonstrates that he has some form of control over the ladies in this situation.

Theory of GenderWith reference to Laura Mulveys theory of gender, women are represented as passive objects. In this music video the females have been used as props, mainly for the purpose of being objects for the male gaze. This is shown by the way they are dressed in the video. The lack of clothing and provocative dancing can lead people to believe that they have only been cast to just look pretty and dance.
