Trade Mission to Indonesia - Specific Objectives
As Queensland’s sixth largest export market for agricultural produce, Indonesia is an
important market for Queensland food including beef, sugar, wheat and citrus. It is
Queensland’s eighth largest export market by volume for beef products and a major market
for live cattle suitable for Indonesian feedlots, as well as breeding stock.
The intended objectives from this mission were to:
• strengthen Queensland’s trade and investment relationship with Indonesia in boxed beef
and live cattle, including beef genetics, industry services and equipment
• pursue new opportunities for beef and horticulture research, development and extension
progress beef industry development, and explore potential education and training
collaborations with Indonesia.
Trade Mission to China - Specific Objectives China is Queensland’s largest trading partner and a major investor in Australian agriculture. Queensland agricultural exports are dominated by beef exports. The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA), which came into force in December 2015 will provide opportunities to enhance this trade and investment relationship. The intended objectives from this mission were to:
• attend Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong and support Queensland horticulture
businesses

Australia Free Trade Agreement.
