Kinetics Noise Control, Inc Confidential 3/14/2012 Effectiveness of UniBrace: Isolation of the Drive Unit of a Garage Door Opener Purpose for experiment: To measure effectiveness of the UniBrace for Isolating structure-borne noise from a garage door drive unit. Conducted by: Matt Golden Basis experimental setup: A single family residence was located with a bedroom directly above the garage. The garage had an automatic garage door opener installed. Acoustical measurements were obtained in the bedroom while the garage door was opened when the garage door opener was directly attached to the structure and when it was isolated by two Kinetics Noise Control IsoMax UniBrace-L brackets. Measurements were obtained with: BSWA MP253 – ½” free field microphone BSWA MA211 – ICP preamplifier OROS 34 – 4 channel analyzer The analyzer was set to record 1/3 octave band sound pressure levels once every second. Effectiveness of UniBrace:

Isolation of the Drive Unit of a Garage Door Opener

Purpose for experiment: To measure effectiveness of the UniBrace for Isolating structure-borne noise from a garage door drive unit.

Conducted by: Matt Golden

Basis experimental setup: A single family residence was located with a bedroom directly above the garage. The garage had an automatic garage door opener installed. Acoustical measurements were obtained in the bedroom while the garage door was opened when the garage door opener was directly attached to the structure and when it was isolated by two Kinetics Noise Control IsoMax UniBrace-L brackets.

Measurements were obtained with:

� BSWA MP253 – ½” free field microphone � BSWA MA211 – ICP preamplifier � OROS 34 – 4 channel analyzer

The analyzer was set to record 1/3 octave band sound pressure levels once every second. The Leq for each event was then calculated.
