The Learners’ Engagement Activity-2014 was organized at Shree Mahaprabhu Public School, Allahabad (AI No-210540). The ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, Electronic & Communication, MNNIT, Allahabad. The atmosphere of ceremony was very pleasant and learners were very enthusiastic towards the activities. The designs of Posters, Banners, Danglers and Standees added a f e s t i v a l feel a n d h e l p e d i n c r e a t i n g a learning environment at the venue. All the participants were full of enthusiasm. Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Regional Director, NIOS, Regional Centre, Allahabad.

Activity 1 Role Play For role play activities the topics were chosen by the participating AIs as per the guidelines of LEA-2014. Eight AIs participated in the role play activity. The learners had a feel of regular students and performed to the best of their abilities. All the role plays were very educational and left a deep impact on the heart and mind of learners and audience. The plays were appreciated by Chief Guest. The hard work put in by learners, tutors and master trainers was clearly visible. Everyone agreed that role plays based on curriculum and lessons ensured deeper understanding and recall of the content learned.

Creative Expression through Writing and Poster making competition Youth Festival 2014

Activity 2 Creative Writing Competition The topics chosen for creative writing were “NIOS opens the door to a better future”, “I don’t fear exam” and “NIOS examination fulfills dreams”. The creative writing was very expressive. The judges had a tough time to pick out the winners from so many entries. The judges were happy to admit that the standard of writing was above what they had expected. They said that a l l t h e p a r t i c i p an t s deserve appreciation. They commended the winners and wished them luck for future endeavors.

  Activity 3 Poster Making Competition

Poster Making turned out to be the most favourite activity, liked both by the learners as well as audience. Poster making activity proved that words are essential to express feelings. The expressive posters were complete in their own and visually spoke to the viewer. One could not resist himself from appreciating the lovely posters. There was a look of satisfaction and a sense of pride on the faces of all the e n t h u s i a s t i c participants of Poster Making Competition. As the posters were displayed on wall and table, everybody could see the great work done by learners. One and all present at the venue appreciated the lovely posters made by the learners. This competition was special because the special learners (deaf and dumb learners) from AI-450092 won four prizes out of total prize of five.
