CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION DAY JAN 28

Our Curriculum Implementation Day in Burnaby had some great activities, collaboration and workshops around the district!

At Burnaby Mountain approximately 140 secondary teachers got together in the morning to learn about standards-based

assessment and what that would mean for their practice. In the afternoon, 40 elementary teachers gathered together to

consider quality assessment. Place-based learning was another well attended workshop at Burnaby Lake and the feedback was

great! Additionally, teachers attended workshops for ELL learners and Math that were supported by our staff development

team and teachers around the district. Some teachers took the opportunity to use detached duty funds to attend other learning

opportunities. The BTA was very happy with the feedback that they have received from colleagues around the district. We

hope that everyone had a positive experience to work with the redesign curriculum and enhance their practice.
