INTRODUCTION

MISSION CYBER POWER-II

It’s an initiative for providing Computers( Both Desktop and Laptop) to DSP

account holders( Army, Navy and Air Force) (where Salary is credited) at concessional rates

jointly by SBI,HCL and Intel.

It’s actually a project which was initiated by HCL in 2010 to provide laptops and

desktops to SBI account holders,employees,corporate and defense salary package employees at

discounted prices.

In this project the prices of lap-tops and desktops are less compared to that of the

market prices.On an average these prices are Rs 4000/- compared to that of the market prices.So

this scheme is really beneficial for the people mentioned above.

In 2011 the 2nd part of this project was initiated which was named as MISSION

CYBER POWER-II and the project was extended upto June 30 th 2011 for the same customers

mentioned above.And the process for ordering to delivery is explained below.

PROCESS FROM ORDER TO DELIVERY

In this, the process is as follows

-First of all the customer visits the branch which is SBI

-Then,he takes a look at the brochure in which all the details of prices of laptops and desktops

are given.

-The HCL executives will be present in every branch of SBI to take the order.First of they will

confirm whether the customer has the savings or salary account in SBI.

-If the customer has either of the accounts,then HCL executives in that branch will assist them in

making them select the laptops and desktops which are best suitable for the customers based on

their need and requirement.

-Now, the customer selects either a laptop or desktop and places an order for that.

-The HCL Executive now asks whether he wants loan or would he like to directly purchase the

lap-top or desktop by paying the cash.

-If the customer is directly paying the cash then he can withdraw cash from his SBI account and

deposit it in HCL account which is in SBI.

-Then he will be given the order form in which he has to fill his details in which he has to fill his

details such as name,address etc.. so that delivery can be done directly to the mentioned address

in the form.

-The delivery is done within 7 working days to the mentioned address in the form.

-In case the customer wants to take loan then he has to provide the following documents.

2 Passport Size Photograph

Latest Pay Slip ( Monthly / Quarterly )

Serving Certificate

Post Date Cheques

Stamp Paper

Photo ID proof ( Driving License or PAN Card or Voter ID)

Form 16

-After providing all the required documents,the loan will sanctioned by the branch manager.

-Finally,the customer gets the loan and the product will be deliverd to the customer within 7

working days.

LEARNINGS FROM THIS PROJECT

In this project we have interacted with more than 100 customers and the following

things were learned by me

-I was able to learn how to interact with different kind of customers who speak different

languages and how to identify their needs and requirements.

-I have learnt to deal customers who have different mindsets especially the defense people.

-I have learnt how to convince the customers and how to create interest in them to buy the

product.

-I was even able to learn about the laptop industry,various players in the industry.

-I was able understand the customer perception of the customers towards HCL brand.

-I was able to understand how the loan process is done in the bank.

FEEDBACK FROM THE CUSTOMERS

The feedback from many customers whom we have interacted are as follows:-

-The customers felt that it would’ve been better if the loans were provided even for SBI account

holders other than salary and defense packages.

-They said that these type of campaigns should spread across many other regions.

-They also said that this scheme is not known to many people because the promotion activities

for HCL.

-The customers felt that they were getting laptops of premier brands such as Dell, HPetc.. at the

same cost as HCL.

-They also felt that the models also should be increased with different combinations of

configurations so that they can get whatever configuration they want.

-The customers said that the promotional activities for HCL should be increased so that they can

compete with the international brands such as dell.

-The outlets for HCL also should be increased in number.

SUGGESTIONS

Some of our suggestions that we would give to the company are.

-The company should increase the promotional activities such as kanopy,etc.. in many offices

and banks.

-The company should improve its branding among the customers in order create brand awareness

among the people.

-The interns such as us should be given some stiphend so that we get motivated and can work

with dedication.

CONCLUSION

Finally, from the project that we have done in HCL I would say that it was very

challenging and we have learned many things.So,I personally request the organization to initiate

many projects like this in the future also,but for interns it would be better if they are provided

some stiphend for the work they are doing,because that would be a motivation for them.
