The Chairman and Members of the Executive Committee, National Institute of Personnel Management (Kerala Chapter) take pleasure in presenting the Annual Report for the year 2016- 2017 (July 2016 to June 2017).

(9) Chapter Level Business Quiz 2016

17th August 2016 - NIPM Kerala Chapter in association with Synthite Industries Limited and SCMS Cochin organized Chapter Level Business Quiz 2016 at SCMS Premises for Synthite Rolling Trophy. The Quiz Master was Mr. A.S. Arun, from Trissur. Total 63 Teams from various B-Schools were participated in the competition. From the elimination round 6 teams were short listed for the final round. The following are the winners of Chapter Level Quiz:

First Prize Team from Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies (RCBS), Kochi consisting of Mr. Revanth S and Mr. Vijit Babu.

1st Runner-up Team from Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Kochi consisting of Saurav Sharma and Mr. Kamal Vignesh.

2nd Runner-up Team from Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies (RCBS), Kochi consisting of Mr. Anoop Krishnan K.U. and Mr. Arjun S Naik.

The Cash Prizes and Synthite Rolling trophy were presented by Mr. Ninan Philip, Director (HR), Synthite Group of Companies and Managing Director, Herbal Isolates Ltd during the valedictory function immediately after the competitions.

(10) NIPM Foundation Day Celebrations

15-03-2017 – NIPM Foundation Day was celebrated at NIPM House Annexe, Mather Square Kochi. Sri K. Harikumar, Managing Director, Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd. delivered the Foundation Day Lecture followed by Interaction with the participants.

Course Completion Certificates to the participants of NIPM Labour Law Certification Course 2nd Batch were also awarded by the Chief Guest Sri K. Harikumar.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

01 Onam Celebrations

18-09-2016 – Kerala’s Harvest Festival “ONAM” was celebrated at BPCL-Petro House, Kochi for Members, Spouse and Children. Various Entertainment items and Competitions were presented for the members and children. Mr.Anish Aravind welcomed the members and other guests and the program was inaugurated by Mr. K.K. Vijayakumar, Chairman. The Chairman also delivered Onam Message. Ms. Jaya Jacob Alexander, Coordinator, Women Cell proposed vote of thanks. The program was concluded with traditional Onasadhya (Lunch) to all participants.

02 Palakkad Group Annual Award Nite

14-01-2017 - NIPM Kerala Chapter (Palakkad Group) has organized its Annual Award Nite in association with Lead College, Dhoni, Palakkad on 14th Jan. 2017. Many Senior Professionals were conferred with various Awards considering their contribution to the Industry & the Profession. The program was followed by Dinner hosted by Palakkad Group.

03 CSR Best Corporate Citizen Award 2017

The Second Edition of Best Corporate Citizen Award 2017 competitions were organized by NIPM Kerala Chapter in following Three Categories:

Category-I : For those companies with CSR Minimum budget upto Rs.50.00 lakhs during the FY 2016-2017

Category-II : For those companies with CSR Minimum Budget between Rs.51.00 lakhs to Rs.99.00 lakhs during the FY 2016-17

Category-III : For those companies with CSR Minimum budget above Rs.100.00 lakhs during the FY 2016-2017.

04 NIPM Young Managers’ Contest

NIPM Kerala Chapter in association with Geojit Financial Services Ltd. and Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies has organized NIPM Young Managers’ Contest for NIPM GEOJIT FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD. Rolling Trophy on 22nd June 2017 at RCBS Auditorium.

The Contest is intended to highlight importance of Change Management Initiatives in Corporate Bodies and to present through

case studies, benefits of projects launched by various organizations. It also seeks to bring to the attention of the profession the pioneering work done by enterprising establishments in HR areas.

The short listed teams have made their case study presentation in front of the jury panel members and invited audience on 22nd June 2017 at Rajagiri Auditorium, Kakkanad, Kochi.

The Following are the winners of the Young Managers’ Contest:

First Prize: Team from BPCL Kochi Refinery consisting of Mr. Praveen Anaswara, Ms. Aiswarya Karthikeyan & Ms. Anshu Shalinee

Ist Runner-up: Team from Popular Vehicles & Services Ltd. consisting of Mr. Jestin Joseph, Mr. Jim George & Mr. Rajesh Mon R

NIPM Geojit Financial Services Ltd Rolling Trophy and Cash Award of Rs.50,000/- to the First Prize Winning Team and Cash award of Rs.25,000/- to the Runner-up team were presented by Dr. Joseph I Injody, Executive Director, RCBS and Sri Sathish Menon, Executive Director, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services Ltd. respectively during the Valedictory Function immediately after the competitions.

05 Academic excellence Awards

The following Academic Excellence Awards to the children will be distributed during the AGM 2017

a) Zachariah Memorial Award for 1st Rank Holder in MHRM conducted by M.G. University during 2015-2017

b) K.R.C. Nayar Memorial Award for 2nd Rank Holder in MHRM conducted by M.G. University during 2015 - 2017

c) M. Sulaiman Memorial Academic Excellence Awards for Xth, XIIth, Degree & Post Graduation for the year 2016 were also presented to the Children of NIPM members on the occasion.

LIBRARY

We are happy to inform you that we have a well equipped Library at NIPM House, Kochi housing invaluable Books written by eminent Scholars / Professionals / Writers, related to HR/IR/Labour Laws etc. Members are requested to make use of our Library.

FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS

The Annual Statement of Receipts and Payments and also Income and Expenditure for the year and the Balance Sheet as on 31st March 2017 along with the Auditor’s report are appended.

CHAPTER ACHIEVEMENT19

NIPM Kerala Chapter has been adjudged as “Best Chapter 2015 – 2016” by NIPM National Council, Kolkata for the outstanding activities conducted by our Chapter during the said period. The Best Chapter Award has been received by the Chairman and other Office Bearers on 22nd

September 2016 during the 35th Annual National Conference held at Navi Mumbai.

CONCLUSION

We take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all Members, Organizations and Well wishers who have extended their whole hearted support and cooperation in making our efforts a grand success.

Our special thanks are due to Chief Executives of various Industrial and Trade Organizations in the State for their patronage.

The Co-operation received from, the National Office during the year was very encouraging.

We also acknowledge with gratitude, the commitment of the Chairmen and members of various sub-committees.

We also thank NIPM Groups under Kerala Chapter at Palakkad, Calicut, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Trissur & Infopark (IT/ITES) for their active contributions and support in making Kerala Chapter vibrant.

Our report for the year 2016-2017 will be incomplete if we fail to specially mention pivotal role-played by the Fellows and Senior Members of NIPM Kerala Chapter and we sincerely thank them for their illustrious contributions throughout the year. We also expect same spirit and cooperation in our future endeavors too.
