    Background

    Bending moment is the total of bending that occurs in a beam. The calculation of bendingmoment is used to identify where the greatest bending takes place. Type of load and its

    location can impact on the overall bending of a beam. The load are place at different distance

    with different quantity of load.

    Moment measured as a force multiplied by a distance ( M = F x d ) ,so they have as

    unit newton-metres (Nm). The forces and moments on either side of the section must be

    equal in order to counteract each other and maintain a state ofequilibrium.

    Bending (also known as flexure) characterizes the behaviour of a slenderstructural element

    subjected to an external load applied perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis of the element.
