A scan of the research community showed that there’s a growing trend towards researchers having to pay to have their results published or posted to on-line publications. We reacted quickly and implemented a new line in our research application budgets, allowing funds for publication and dissemination. This is just one small example of how we’re listening to the dietetic research community.

Dietitians across the country responded to surveys during our marketing audit. We learned that they wanted CFDR somehow to contribute to their knowledge and enhance dietetic practice. We listened and acted; our sodium webcast was one tangible way that we provided an educational resource based on CFDR-funded research to support dietetic practice.

This year, we connected with CFDR constituents to ascertain what they felt was best about CFDR and what they thought we could do differently to add value. We listened to what corporate partners and dietitians valued most and we instituted some programs – like the Nutrition Research in Focus program – to increase the value of their relationship with us.
