The repertoire of elements are key elements of a film that are consistently repeated throughout a genre.
Each genre has its own repertoire of elements which defines it as that genre.
They fall under these 7 categories:
Iconography
Props
Style
Settings
Narrative
Characters
Themes
WHAT ARE THEY?
Iconography:Masks, blood, silhouettes, shadows, etc.
EXAMPLES USING HORROR AS A GENRE

Props:Guns, daggers, blood, candles, cloaks, etc.
PROPS
Style:Dark, shadowy, low key lighting, eerie
music etc.
STYLE
Settings:Haunted house, castle, forest, anywhere
dark, etc.
SETTINGS
Narrative:Being trapped, being chased, supernatural,
etc.
NARRATIVE
Characters:Killers, monsters, demons, devils, etc.

Themes:Death, fear, gore, traps, isolation, etc.
