4Repair Your PST File:.To repair your PST file, youll have to open the Scanpst.exe utility thats included by default with Outlook. Once you open up the utility, youll have to find the location of your PST file by clicking the Browse button.

Click on the Start button to start the scan

It will take a while to scan the file, and youll get a report at the end telling you whether you have errors in the file.

Click on the Repair button, and after a while youll finally get the Repair complete message.

Show the Repair is Complete.

In this case, when the Outlook.pst files gets corrupt due to renaming or modification, you are able to repair the Outlook.pst file using the Scanpst.exe tool.
