Right-hander Zack Greinke gets the nod for Reno on a rehab assignment, opposite southpaw Chris Jones. Last Night’s Game: Matt Koch lasted into the seventh in his Triple-A debut, but Fresno tallied single runs in the third, sixth, seventh and ninth innings en route to a 4-1 win over the Aces on Tuesday night at Greater Nevada Field. With the loss, the Aces (60-50) dropped consecutive games for the first time since the All-Star break, while losing the season series against Fresno (60-49) for the first time since 2013. Reno struck first against right-hander Mike Hauschild, scoring the game’s first run on a double play. The twin killer - off the bat of Kyle Jensen - squandered a bases-loaded, no-out situation, leaving the Aces with a meager run. Fresno pestered Koch for one run in the third on a double play when Nolan Fontana scored ahead of a rundown that ended the inning. Jon Kemmer then gave the visitors the lead in the sixth with a one-out solo shot to deep right, clearing the grass berm. A passed ball in the seventh led to the Grizzlies’ third run. Andrew Aplin singled to left-center with two away and took second on Dan Rohlfing’s first defensive miscue behind the plate, setting up Tyler Heineman’s run-scoring single. Aplin put the finishing touches on Fresno’s series-sealing victory in the ninth, lofting his fifth homer of the season over the wall in right. Hauschild (8-9) limited the Aces to one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts over seven innings in the win. Koch (0-1) suffered the loss after yielding three runs - two earned - on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings. Jandel Gustave worked around an error, fanning the side in the ninth for his second save. Reno dropped to third place in the Pacific Northern Division with the defeat. Despite the loss, the Aces remain just four games back of the Tacoma Rainiers for first place after their 3-2 loss to Albuquerque. The two squads play nine of their final 13 games against one another. Chris Jones: 27-year-old Chris Jones starts in the series opener for Salt Lake tonight. The left-hander is 3-9 with a 7.38 ERA (67 ER/81.2 IP) and 55 strikeouts over 16 starts for the Bees. He has faced the Aces twice this year, going 1-1 with a 9.58 ERA (11 ER/10.1 IP). He threw seven innings of three-run ball against Reno on May 7 at Smith’s Ballpark. After going 3-2 with a 6.43 ERA through his first seven starts for Salt Lake, he has taken the loss in seven of his last nine starts. Last season, he went 8-8 with a 2.94 ERA (49 ER/150.0 IP) and 105 strikeouts over 30 games (22 starts) for Triple-A Norfolk. In 272 career Minor League games (78 starts), Jones is 47-49 with a 3.77 ERA and 625 strikeouts in 785.2 innings. The Angels acquired him in a trade with Baltimore on March 29, 2016. He was originally selected by Cleveland in the 15th round of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Vivian Gaither (Tampa, Fla.) High School. The Word is Third: Reno enters tonight’s game in third place, 4.0 games behind first-place Tacoma in the Pacific Northern Division and just one-half game back of second-place Fresno. Through 110 games last year, Reno was in second place, 10.0 games back of the Grizzlies for the division lead. Consecutive Losses: The Aces were handed a second straight loss last night, giving them two con- secutive losses for a first time since the All-Star break. Reno closed out the first half with back-to-back losses against Fresno, both occurring on July 9 in a doubleheader at Chukchansi Park. Koch’in his Aces Debut: Right-hander Matt Koch hurled 6.2 innings last night in his Triple-A debut, allowing three runs -- two earned -- on eight hits with one strikeout. He threw 103 pitches, 73 for strikes, but the Grizzlies took the lead for good on Jon Kemmer’s solo homer in the sixth. Koch, 25, is expected to make his next start on Monday against Salt Lake in Reno. Extra, Extra, Read all about Z-Bo!: Aces outfielder Zach Borenstein doubled as part of a 1-for-4 ef- fort last night, giving him seven extra-base hits (5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer) on Reno’s eight-game homestand. He has 33 extra-base hits for the Aces this year in 92 games, one more than his total last year through 103 games combined between Mobile and Reno. His career-high XBH total is 57, set in 2013 in 112 games for Single-A Advanced Inland Empire when he was in the Angels’ farm system. Shopping for W’s at Smith’s Ballpark: Reno has struggled recently at Smith’s Ballpark, losing seven consecutive contests to the Bees. Reno’s last win at Salt Lake came on May 11, 2015, in a 5-4 victory, giving Reno a 3-1 series win. Marquee Matchup: The last time Reno and Salt Lake met on June 7 in Reno, Tim Lincecum and Braden Shipley dueled during the day, with the latter getting the best of former NL Cy Young Award winner. The Aces won 11-2 before a crowd of 10,185, the fourth-largest attendance in Greater Nevada Field history. Tonight, Zack Greinke gets the nod for Reno on a Major League rehab assignment, op- posite lefty Chris Jones. HR Trios: In 2015, Jamie Romak (27), O’Brien (26) and Nick Evans (17) combined for 70 home runs, the most by an Aces trio in team history, narrowly breaking the 66 long balls hit between Cody Ransom (27), Wily Mo Pena (21) and Andy Tracy/Brandon Allen (18 apiece) in 2011. This year, Kyle Jensen (23), O’Brien (21) and Haniger (19) have amounted 63 home runs with a whopping 34 games remaining on the schedule. Through 110 Games: The Aces are 60-50 through 110 games, seven games ahead of last season’s 53-57 mark. The starting rotation has posted a 4.79 ERA (325 ER/610.2 IP) compared to last year’s 5.56 ERA (353 ER/571.0 IP) in 110 games. Last year, the offense had scored 569 runs through 110 contests (5.17 runs per game), slightly above this season’s 568 runs in 110 games (5.16 runs per game). Tonight’s Starter: Right-hander Zack Greinke gets the ball on a rehab assignment for the Aces in the opener at Salt Lake. The D-backs signed the 2009 AL Cy Young Award winner to a 6-year, $206.5 million contract on December 8, 2015, after he posted 19 wins and a 1.66 ERA for the Dodgers while finishing second in the NL Cy Young race to Chicago Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta. He was originally selected by the Royals in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2002 MLB June Amateur Draft. A three-time All-Star and two-time NL Gold Glove winner, Greinke is 10-3 with a 3.62 ERA over 17 starts for Arizona in his first season in the desert.

Major-League Debut: Greinke made his MLB debut on May 22, 2004 with the Royals at O.co Coliseum against the Athlet-ics, taking a no-decision in a 5-4 loss. He allowed two earned runs on five hits and one walk with one strikeout over 5.0 innings.

Last Outing: Greinke’s last start was cut short when he strained his left oblique against Philadelphia on June 28 at Chase Field. The 32-year-old allowed one earned run on four hits over 2.0 innings.

Against the Grizzlies: Tonight’s start marks Koch’s Triple-A debut.

Tomorrow’s Starters: The Aces will send right-handers Shelby Miller (2-0, 5.09) and John Omahen (1-2, 8.37) to the bump for game one and two of tomorrow’s doubleheader. 9.0 - 10x - 6/7/16 vs. Tampa Bay (MLB)
