GridMaker functionalities I
-Power electronics based solution to maintain constant voltage and frequency within a microgrid enabling the connection of any type of distributed resources
-Stabilizes voltage and frequency by balancing active and reactive power within the microgrid
-Under unbalance conditions is also able to balance the three phase voltage supply so that the distributed generators connected are not subjected to any voltage distortion.

GridMaker functionalities II - Uses a direct frequency and voltage control that provides a high dynamic performance.
-Is able to operate connected to the utility grid or off-grid, and also it allows to be interconnected to weak grids.
-Utility connection and isolation is controlled free of transients by a fast switch on the point of interconnection.

GridMaker functionalities III
- In grid-connected mode a zero-net-energy strategy is followed so that the power requested from the grid could be reduce as much as possible, balancing the renewable generation connected on the microgrid with loads. - Incorporates an optional energy storage system (battery AGM, Gel or Li- Ion) connected at the dc link of the power converter to guarantee a perfect balance of generation and load.

GridMaker operational mode I - It can work in a classical operation mode together with a generator to reduce running hours and cut fuel consumption - When the generator runs it is made to work as efficiently as possible with any spare energy being stored in a high power battery pack. When the battery is charged and demand for power is low, the generator can turn off and the energy stored in the battery is used to supply the load. When the battery runs low or the load increases, the generator is told to start up again

- The generator is synchronized to the grid and it is not responsible for maintaining voltage and frequency since Grid Maker holds this function, avoiding low quality voltage.

GridMaker- Energy Management System
Grid Maker includes an Energy Management System (EMS) that takes control of the microgrid, stablishing the optimal operating settings of the distributed resources connected to the grid. EMS is not just a SCADA system but determines the operational point of generator, and power curtailment of renewable resources in case of low demand. EMS assumes the battery management system setting according with the battery manufacturer and incorporates a small-scale forecast system for loads and renewable resources predictions.
