This is an introduction to our language lab, its many uses and some of the things we
will be doing.

I can listen to you as you do your paired activities, even without you knowing it
Make sure the microphone is directly in front of your mouth when talking.

•To replace the headset in the tray:
a) Gather the cord loosely and place in the tray first
b) Set the headset on top of the cord
Why use a language lab?
• Paired practice without moving
• Group conversations without distractions
• Listening exercises directly into your ears
• Videos just like the movies
• Speaking tests made easier
Lab Rules
#1 GUM and FOOD are forbidden while using the lab
#2 Headset trays are for headsets only
#3 Leave your headset plugged into the jack at all times
#4 Keep hands off the trays—no pulling or swinging on them
Lab use
•Check to make sure that you have the headset you were assigned
•Talk in a normal tone—no need to talk loudly
• To replace the headset in the tray:a) Gather the cord loosely and place in the tray first
b) Set the headset on top of the cord
•Wait for the trays to stop completely before taking your headset
