General DescriptionIntelligent management of diverse sites and equipment is critical for

The Remote RMC-700 and RMM-800 systems are powerful

intelligent monitoring and control devices that provide

comprehensive alarm monitoring, smart device connectivity, data

conversion and aggregation, and I/O capacity for sensors and

passive equipment. The Westell solution is designed to enhance

your network management strategy, reduce costs, and improve

operational efficiency by bringing assets and equipment within

immediate reach of your core business operations.

The Remote RMC-700 has a small footprint and can be conveniently

mounted in a telecommunications or utility closet, on a wall, or inside

virtually any indoor or outdoor enclosure to provide intelligent

management capabilities for local systems. The Remote RMM-800

also offers carrier-grade quality and reliability, but in a traditional

rack-mounted form-factor. The RMM-800 also adds SFP slots for

additional network connectivity options and PoE for powering IP

cameras and other devices via the two on-board gigabit Ethernet

ports. Both systems are the perfect choice for applications such

as generator management, fuel monitoring, environmental and

HVAC monitoring and control, aircraft warning light monitoring,

and physical security. The Remote family can connect multiple

applications simultaneously, reducing the physical, network, and

power footprint required for bringing diverse assets into a common

management platform.

The RMC-700 and RMM-800 require minimal power, and the RMC-

700 supports an optional backup battery to ensure continuous

operation through local power outages. In addition to traditional

building and shelter environments, both models can be integrated

into purpose-built cabinets, allowing for drop-in management of

critical outdoor systems, multi-tenant facilities, and other diverse

systems.

Remote RMC-700 and RMM-800

The Remote RMC-700 and RMM-800 are key hardware

components in the Westell intelligent site management solution.

The Remote units connect to sensors, controls, and intelligent

systems, collecting and aggregating alarms and performance data

while providing secure backhaul connectivity to management

systems via wireless, fiber or Ethernet connectivity. Together

with a management system (Westell’s Optima Prime, other 3rd

party management system, or both) the Westell Remote family

of products provides a complete solution for detailed monitoring,

remote control and management.
