Remote Cultures 1) Overall Impression of both cultures I was very interested in both cultures after watching the two videos. They were both very new to me and were exciting to learn about. Neither of these cultures were in big populated areas. Some of the things they did within the movie were kind of scary. I believe if any of that was done around here or where I live, it would be considered illegal and those people would be arrested. The way the people from Kentucky talked to each other was also very different to what I’m use to hearing. I don’t think I could live in an environment where people talk to each other like that. 2) Implications (social, political, legal, religious, economics, others) Each culture had a different way of socializing, whether it was singing or dancing. Remote Cultures

1) Overall Impression of both cultures

I was very interested in both cultures after watching the two videos.

2) Implications (social, political, legal, religious, economics, others)

Each culture had a different way of socializing, whether it was singing or dancing. Neither of the cultures looked to be involved in politics. They also seem to have different and unique rituals for their religion. Their economic status was not very good. They did not seem to have a lot of money or belongings, but they made the most of what they had.

3) How do they compare to yours

They relate to American culture because it came off, that family was very important to them, which in my family is number one no matter what the situation is, we have each others backs. Everyone is close to each other and knows the people around them, that was my goal when I came to college, I got to know the

people around me.

4) Similarities between both cultures

The cultures are similar because they both are far from urbanized areas. They also have their own private rituals, and music.

5) How do you think those cultures were created

The cultures may have been created from people who were kicked out of other communities and decided to start their own lifestyle.

6) What would it take to integrate those cultures to ours, should we?

To integrate them into our cultures, we would have to teach them our ways of life, and what we do on a day to day basis. We should not push them change if they believe it is not the right thing to do.
