Class Two

Topic• Man has unique authority & position in the

Creation.

• Knowing who we are gives us confidence to make bold requests of God.

• Not knowing who we are stifles our prayers and prevents us from performing the requirements of the Christian walk.

• Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

• Psalm 8: 4-8 What is man that You are mindful of him,          And the son of man that You visit him?  For You have made him a little lower than God, (Young’s Literal Translation)         And You have crowned him with glory and honor.           You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;         You have put all things under his feet,  All sheep and oxen—         Even the beasts of the field,  The birds of the air,         And the fish of the sea          That pass through the paths of the seas.

• Ephesians 5:23  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

• Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

• Revelation 19:7-9 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he said to me, Write, Blessed are they which are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb

• Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

• Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

• 1 Chorinthians 12:27  Now you are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

.

• Colosians 1 12-23 Giving thanks to the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the

inheritance of the saints in light:

Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and blameless and unreproveable in his sight:  If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

o Let us make man in our image -- When the rest of creation looks at us, they can see the likeness we bear to God

o made him a little lower than God, -- Our creation is the Apex of creationo and have dominion ... over every living thing that moves on the earth. – we have been

given dominion and authorityo You have crowned him with glory and honor. -- we stand with honoro we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. -- we are already considered

to be a part of Himo . And he is the head of the body, the church: -- He, himself, is our head. We report

directly to the Kingo and he is the savior of the body.– Not only is He our King, but he is also the one who

rescued us.o we have redemption through his blood -- our salvation came through His bloodo has he reconciled  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and

blameless and unreproveable --- His salvation is so thorough that we stand blameless before the Holy One.

o having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself -- He made us, who we enemies, to be reconciled to Himself and to the Father

o by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth - our King, our fiance and our savior is also the one who personally created us

o all things were created by him, and for him -- and He created us for Himselfo by him all things consist – Our life is in himo marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was

granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. -- Our King desires to marry us – We will marry our King, our creator, our savior, and the one from whom we draw life

o And the Spirit and the bride say, -- He will give us a say in His kingdom

These claims seem Ridiculous

• Many of us believe that the Tribulation is going to occur in this or next generation....that means we believe the marriage to the Son will occur in the next 50 or so years.

• Do we believe what the Bible says about us??

• If we believe it in our head, do we believe it in our hearts and walk that truth out?

• These truths do not bear any resemblece to our temporal reality, so we have to make excuses for them

– the verses don’t really mean what they say – – or they are about the future and they are not applicable to us now– or we accept them by faith even though we have no evidence of there

reality – even though the Bible records that other Christians have lived in that truth -- why not us?

If We Told Anyone We Believed these Scriptures – Literally we would expect:

• “Really...you think we are the highest order of creation?...• You think that we are going to be married to the creator of the universe....• you do mean to say that only our creation, and no other creation....• You really think that God Himself planned to allow Himself to suffer and die

so that He could get us --- when, hello....he is God and could make another set of folks....

• You think that you have access to the blood of Christ – His literal life? • You think that your prayers happen to make a difference --- good things

happen when you don’t pray, what makes you think that your prayers are more meaningful than someone else’s.....

• You are so simplistic and so narrow and so arrogant..., open your eyes and see that God loves everyone...

• God is love, and your silly belief system is so narrow that it locks people out.

• Don’t you see that God isn’t constrained by your belief’s about exclusivity... He is looking for people who love what is good...

• Your bloody gory idea about an exclusive God who sends people to hell is so filled with hate, that how can you possibly reconcile that idea with a God of love, who would tenderly care for all of His creation?

Can these Scripture be taken at Face Value?

• They are a repeating theme, starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation.

• Given the frequency of repetition, we have to assume that it is not figurative speech. It means what it says.

• Other religions have theologies that are much easier to understand, and that make intuitive sense. Christianity’s claims are hard to hear.

Christian’s Authority

• You have the authority and right to invoke the name, the blood and the authority of the King of Kings into situations.

• You have the right to take the blood of God, which is the essence of life, and exchange it for the essence of death.

• You have the right to enter the throne room of the Most High God and make requests...and expect that your petitions will be taken seriously.

• You were created to be the Bride of God. • That you have been given dominion over this earth, • You have been granted authority over Hell• You are chosen, predestined and desired by God

Himself

We Don’t Live In Power

You don’t see it, because you don’t abide in Him and then ask.

Ask it will be given to you,

Seek and you will find

Knock and it will be opened to you.

Marriage to Jesus within 100 years?

• The Bible declares that Christ is going to married to the church at some point in the not especially distant future...the implication is that the marriage takes place around the same time as the Tribulation, and many believe that the Tribulation may take place in our life-times, or the life-time of our children. That’s pretty soon. And the Bible is talking about us??

• This is so unlikely, that there is an alternative belief system within the Church

Emmergent Church Belief• Christ, who is Very God of Very God, came to earth with the intention of revealing God’s love for

man, by living among man.

• His intention was to show us how to live life abundantly in love, obedience to the Father, and humility.

• God is love. Christ is love. • Love forgives. • Christ has commanded that we forgive one another.

• If God is love, and love is forgiveness, and God has asked us to forgive freely...then God Himself is a God who freely forgives.

• If God freely forgives, then there was no need for Christ to PAY a remittance for us. God had already forgiven.

• Since God has already forgiven us, the purpose of Christ’s appearance was not the atonement of sin, because forgiveness was not the issue with God. Love is God’s issue

• Christ came to teach us how to love each other.

• Christ’s death was the result of loving us enough to always do the right thing, which led to His death..it wasn’t necessary, it was man’s bad choices that took Him there.

Emergent Church ContinuedThe wrathful God of the Old Testament is due the misconceptions of the Jews of God,

based on their poly-thesitic surroundings. The OT is simply the understanding of godly men at that time. They were incorrect.

Because man could not invision a loving God, Jesus came to earth to reveal God to mankind.

The Christians of the New Testament, still didn’t understand God as love, because their understanding was still based on the OT beliefs of a wrathful God

So the New Testament is simply the collection of the belief systems of godly men from that time.

We now have walked with Christ for 2 centuries, and we have a much clearer understanding of a God a love, bcause we can study the life of Christ and not be caught up in the poly thesiem of the past.

We understand why the NT is incorrect in its assertion that God somehow required the substitution death for the payment of sin.

How bloody, how horrible, how very lost those people are who cling to the cross and the blood as if it, in all of its gore, has any relevance to living a life of goodness, kindness and love.

How We Believe In the God of The Bible

You can not know God through someone else. It is a direct relationship

• You must experience the Truth of the Bible for yourself to know that it is true.

• You must to taste and see that The Lord is good.

• Your own experience must bear out the truth.

• You must pray, and see your own prayers answers

• You only thing that you need, after salvation, is a small amount of faith to believe that hears you.

• All the rest of the faith comes as a result of that relationship.

• You add Scripture and the authority of the blood to your prayers, and you will experience answers to prayer. You learn and submit to abiding, and you will have more prayers answered, because you will learn how to pray in parallel with whats to do.

• We have access to the life of Christ...blood in our fight against the enemy of our soul.

We are a Unique Creation• Genesis 1: 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness • We are the creation made in the image of God.

• We alone can be joined to God

• Christ died only for us, not for the angels

• Because we are in God’s image we can marry the Son - we bear the likeness of God.

• We are the creation that was chosen, called and justified.

• We are the creation that can be in Christ, and He in us.

• We alone have all of the implausible promises of redempion, priesthood, and joining to God.

• This promise is so vast that even those of us who love Jesus and are fully committed to the infallible nature of the Bible, even we doubt fullness of this promise.

• How can this be true when nothing around us bears any resemblance to this promise?

• Yet, if Christ was willing to die for our redemption, it must be that we are very valuable. This claim about our worth must be true.

This Life is About Getting Ready for the Marriage to the Son

• Revelation 19:7-9 may we rejoice and exult, and give the glory to Him, because come did the marriage of the Lamb, and his wife did make herself ready; and there was given to her that she may be arrayed with fine linen, pure and shining, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.‘

• Youngs Literal Translation

Powerful Prayer• James 5 The fervent, effectual prayer of the

righteous man avails much.

• The bride is arrayed in righteous acts.

• Powerful prayer requires a commitment to righteousness, and righteousness can only be found in abiding in Christ.

Psalm 8:5-8 For You have made him a little lower than God,

And You have crowned him with glory

and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works

of Your hands

Mankind has been given dominion over the earth• Satan and his angels have been cast down to the earth.

• We have been choice, authority, dominion and access to the Father

• Whatever choices we make, generally speaking, that is what is done.

• we make decisions and we live with the decisions that we make individually and as a society

• We are all given a sphere of influence, and within that arena we have the choices and responsibilities.

• The Kingdom of God travels where we go; but it is our decision on what to do and what to say.

• More dominion/influence/power - the greater our opportunity to hurt other people...be careful when you ask for an expansion of your influence, you are responsible for the people you take down with you.

• We need the Father to help us exercise our authority rightly.

Dominion and Authority carry Responsibility

• We are charged with ruling over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

• A good ruler is a servant. “with humility consider others better than yourself.

• Your responsibility is not only for other people in your sphere of influence, it is for the entire creation that is in you sphere of influence.

• When you accept and rule rightly, you are given more authority. If you ask for more authority, almost certainly he will give it to you, whether you are prepared or not...and then you will be responsible. Don’t grasp for more, instead ask The Lord to give to you as you are able to rule without harm to others.

• In order to care properly for anyone or anything, you have to know that you

have that authority and feel like you can use it. That is why you need to know who you are.

• It is easy to make a mistake and harm the people or land/animals in your care. Often we don’t even know that our abuse of power is the cause for their harm

Problems with Authority & Dominion and Responsibility

• Elisha was mocked by a group of boys, he cursed them and involked God’s name, and 2 bears came out of the woods and killed 42 of the boys.– You might notice that he never again cursed anyone, including

the armies that surrounded him. What a hard lesson to learn

• King David took a census, to see how many men of war he had available. God sent a plague and killed 70,000 people.

• Because of the authority and power and dominion that is granted to us, we inadvertently harm people-to great disaster – when we sin, and usually we don’t even make the connection between our sin and their harm.

Our Infinite Value• Greater than the combined value of every temporal thing.• Our glorified form, will be of an order higher than the Ark Angels. • We are called to be priests to God making supplications for ourselves and

for our fellow man. • We are permitted directly into the Throne Room of God to make requests,• we are given the blood of Jesus for the remission of sin, and this position of

authority was bought for us by the one who knew us from before the earth was formed and fully understands who we are.

• We are honored to know each other.

• We will never believe in the strength of our words, or believe the strength of our prayers until we believe that we are who the Bible says.

• Our faith will be impaired until we understand and accept our position visa a vis Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Heavenly Father. This truth, of our intrinsic and vast value, simply in our being human, and secondly in our being Redeemed, is foundational to understanding our call to come before the Father, the King of Kings, who is seated on the Throne of Grace/Mercy, and ask what we will (within the righteousness of Christ) and expect to have our petitions seriously considered and generally granted.

Other People’s Value & The War Over Us

• When we understand the value of the people around us...the value of the person standing on the corner asking for a handout, the value of the person that we are married to, the value of our children, and other people’s children, it changes how we treat them. All of these people that you see, and take for granted, or are irritated with because they have bothered you. These people are vastly vastly valuable. Once you begin to see them, as predestined, as sought after by your beloved, as a member of your very body, as so unique and worthy of your affection...it will change your heart.

• This race of humans is THE CAUSE for the war in heaven. Satan cares tremendously about each one of us, because we are so very valuable to God, and in our glorified form will have a body above his. If this weren’t so important, we would not be worth the battle.

What

• Who are we that God would send his only son to suffer a painful death, that we might be preserved? Why didn’t God just start over? Why is this race so important? Either we have more value than we generally understand, or God doesn’t make economical sense...after all HE could have started over...or not...and if not, why purchase us at such a high price...who the heck are we that the God of all the Universe would care enough for us to number the hairs on heads. Who are we that it possible to be friend of God? Who are we that we might marry the Son of God? Why don’t we see these truths in our lives? Where is our power, why is this statement even believable?

• The Redeemed are redeemed for the purpose of marriage to the Son• Revelation 19: 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage

of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and whitea: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

• As the Son chose the Bride, so the Bride must be given the opportunity choose the Son. The marriage agreement has to be acceptable to both parties. He has chosen us, we must choose Him.

• That joining with The Son is what we were created for. All of this sanctification is so that we are made as a bride without blemish or spot or wrinkle. This life is a sanctification process, where we get to know our husband, the balance of our body, and our God. We have the choice here, to choose Him or reject Him. We have the choice here of just how much of Him we want. The bridegroom has made the offer, the lady must accept. God knows us, He knows all about us, and He wants us.

• This is all about learning to trust The Son; it is about learning to abide in Him and being changed into His image.

• When God talks about knowing us, that is the same word that is used when a man knows his wife in the Bible. That word in Psalm 139, O Lord, you have searched me and dost know me...that is an intimate knowing. God is intimately pursues a relationship with you.

Predestination• Romans 8:30 ... And those whom he predestined, he also called; and those whom

he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified. ... Ephesians 1: 11... In the Messiah we were also chosen when we were predestined according to the purpose of the one who does everything that he wills to do ...

• You are not only predestined to exist, exactly as you are, you where chosen in Christ before the foundation of the earth. You are chosen for purpose to fulfill within His body. God has plans for you, he has specific work for you to do here (and in heaven) and He has uniquely endowed you with abilities and gifts to perform your task. He has furthermore given you every spiritual gift and has sent His Holy Spirit to guide you in every path. He will give you assistance in time of trouble. He is so focused on you, that the thoughts that He thinks concerning you are more numerous than the sand on the sea. He is more aware of you than you are aware of you. He counts the hairs on your head. He has ordered the number of your days, and counts the day of your death as precious. He is delightedly waiting for your arrival in heaven, and He delights in every interaction that you choose to have with Him. The call upon your life is specific to you. Be consistent where you are, submit yourself in your circumstance right now to God. He will conform you to the image of Christ right where you are.

• Know this, every one who has ever lived, is living now, and will ever live, was predestined and chosen in Him. God did not make any mistakes. He didn’t make extras. God predestined every one of us and chose us. We also have to choose Him. Remember 1/3 of the angels in heaven chose “Not God”.

• God made man in His own image, He predestined man to be joined one to another, as the members of a body are joined, and He set them aside as a worthy bride for His own Son. We are the body of Christ and we have the authority of the body. As we act under the direction of the King, our head, our authority becomes absolute. Our authority is largely wielded by our spoken word. Our words carry weight...and our words when they are directly by the King of Glory changes the balance of power.

Back to Remission

Covering a Bill • We have heard the term “I’ll cover it”

– Can refer to the phones at the office, or a shared bill at the coffee shop, cop shows use the term when they are running into a fire of bullets...cover me!

– We also hear this term used in prayer, “I cover this sin with the blood of the lamb”.

– What does it mean when we cover a sin with the blood? It is the same action as remission. I will take care of this debt, that isn’t entirely mine..or isn’t mine at all, by covering it in the blood.

– Remission provides cover for a costly sin

When Two or More Agree• The body of Christ is intended to function as a single unit, or at least

together. The Bible speaks about the necessity of unity, love and patience with one another. If you will join in prayerful agreement with another believer, the power of your prayer is magnified. One can put a thousand to flight and two can put ten thousand. That is actually a quote about what would happen to Israel in war if they had iniquity in the camp. Still the reverse concept is true, if you are in agreement He is there in the midst of you. Today, I would like for you join in prayer with a partner – ideally, if you are married and your spouse is here, please pray with your spouse. I know that often we don’t do that, but there is so much power that I would really like to encourage that match.

Praying with Your Spouse and People You Live With

• Today let us pray remission over the families that we live with.

• Have one person lead in prayer, while the other prays in agreement, and then reverse for the next family member.

• I find it useful to start with general prayers of remission and then move to specific problems.

• The Holy Spirit will lead your prayers, the main thing that you are looking to do with remission is to cover/remit the curse of sin with the payment of the blood of Christ.

Remission Prayer Outline, When Praying for People You know, be Specific if you have Specifics to Cover

• Pray first For Yourself Then for Others

• Cover your family and all that is yours or theirs with the protection of the blood Jesus Christ

• By the authority of Jesus Christ and using the payment of the blood of Christ I apply the blood to every thought, word, deed, gesture, vow or covenant that has been counted as sin and brought about a curse that is laid to my account.

• I apply the same blood for the remission of the curse for myself to every generational sin that has passed to me from my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great grandparents including sins as far back Adam.

• I take this same blood and apply it for the remission of every generational sin that has passed to me on account of soul ties that were acquired by my generations past, both those soul ties that came intentionally and unintentionally.

• Further, I remit the blood of Jesus Christ for the payment of every curse that is upon me on account of soul ties that I have acquired intentionally or unintentionally. I also apply the blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of and breaking and cancellation of every vow, covenant and soul tie upon me whether taken by me intentionally or unintentionally.

• Should any curse remain upon me for any reason, I remit that curse and every remaining outstanding handwriting of requirement that stands against me according and from the first to the last letter of the law of God.

• I curse every plant in my soul that has a root of bitterness. I curse it and command it to wither and die, with no remaining remnant that might re-root. I lay to the root the sword of the spirit for the tearing down of strongholds and request that the Holy Spirit will break apart this forest of iniquity and blow it, in its entirety, into the abyss. I command those roots in my soul to absorb the blood of Jesus, that it might speak a new and better word of truth to me. I request that every seed of the word take root and grow that I might serve The Lord fully and live a life worship.

• I release upon myself the goodness and the kindness of the Lord which leads to repentance, and I seal myself in the blood of the Lamb, who is my God, my Savior, my King, my Lord and my head.
