SG Meeting held on 24th May 2017 – Next SG 23rd August 2017.

Topic Detail Status

Smart Metering

• The CER is in discussions with ESBN for some time with regard to

timing and planning for the next phase of the project.

• Following the extensive discussions and concerns about the

overall delay in the timeline and in part issues around the four year

freeze, ESBN has suggested completing parts of the SMART

Metering program in phases. This has been or will shortly be

communicated at a senior level to Suppliers. The CER is hopeful

that a revised plan would be agreed with Industry and ESBN over

the next couple of months.

determine if the SMART Metering briefing which pertained to a

possible four year freeze was briefed in April or October 2016

• The I-SEM Programme is going well and on track. I-SEM will go

live on 23/05/2018.

• The TSO systems are commencing their testing phases with their

various vendors.

• Policy decisions are nearing completion.

• Market Trials are due to start in December 2017 with a four month

• TIBCO is performing well and the system is stable.

• The Suppliers Release 2.3.4 is progressing very well and nearing

Supplier Release 2.3.4

Supplier release progressing well. Capita has been able to engage with most

Suppliers to perform the release.

Completion of Supplier release due by end of July 2017

Suppliers have still not returned the generic email address to be used in the

jeopardy alert section.

IT Managed Service Update

Engagement is ongoing to finalise transition plans between all parties to

maintain the effective operation of the market systems during the transition

period.

NIE Networks will provide further updates to Suppliers throughout the process.

Engagement will be required from Suppliers to ensure all systems will remain

operational

A session will be scheduled for Suppliers to meet with the Atos team in

August/September 2017.

Q16 -Give us your rating for the following items related to the ReMCoWG Forum – Two

comments received, summarised below:

Schema/Non Schema – there seems to be a general frustration regarding the

prioritisation exercise for the Schema/Non Schema. Suppliers are satisfied with the

overall prioritisation exercise undertaken by ReMCoDS, however when the it comes to

the deciding factor of what MCRs will be implemented Suppliers are requesting process

clarity and transparency around the decision making.

De-Harmonisation – After a recent discussion at a ReMCoWG forum, Suppliers are

concerned about De-Harmonisation. Suppliers are conscious that as a result of De-

Harmonisation both Network Operators will fail to manage the Market Releases

efficiently. Suppliers are also concerned that in a 7 year period there will be only 2

Schema Release as a result of De-Harmonisation.
