RELIGIOUS TEACHING DEPARTMENT

Qura'an, the of Allah, revealed to the last prophet Muhammad (SAW) is no doubt for the

guidance of the entire mankind. Hence the Almighty has said in suratul Baqarah;

“ "ريب فيه هدى للمتقين ل ذلك الكتاب "

This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah”. 2:2

Here, the question lies how can the holy Qura'an be guidance to the mankind? And the answer is

that it can be guidance to only those who practice and understand it. Although recitation of a

single letter of Qura'an is rewarded ten virtues but recitation and understanding it is the true

guidance as mentioned in the verse 2:2.

For the same cause, the management had taken an initiative starting a course “Read Qura'an

with Tajweed and Understand it”, designed by “MESCO” Hyderabad, years back and for the last

three sessions “Hifzul Qura'an” course launched for the students of New Horizon School along

with the curriculum has successfully been running by the Religious Teaching department.

Throughout the sessions about 65 students have enrolled in the course and some students have

completed Hifz of about eleven parahs so far.

The parents, students, teachers and the management of the school are fortunate enough in the

same regard as someone has said “Hafiz ke walidain ko sone ka taj-e-fakhr Roz-e-jaza pehnaega

Hifz-e-kalam-e-paak” ; the parents of those who learn Qura'an by heart would be worn golden

crown by Allah (SAW) on the day of Judgment and the Hafiz would be free to select ten people of

his family, going to the hell of whom would have been finalized, to lead them to the heaven

(Jannat).

The teachers of R.T department have been given the responsibility of overall

development of Hifz students specifically.

Our students have made the entire NHS family feel proud of them by receiving various prizes in different competitions in and outside the school in the guidance of the Hon’ble Principal, the management and the support of the entire R.T. department.

11th NHS Inter School Na’at and Qira’at Competition was held successfully in the school

premises and was appreciated by the Management Members, the Principal, guest teachers and

the participating students.Hon’ble Chairman Sir, Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed Siddiqui, President Sir,

Mr. Shabi Ahmad, Dr. Fakhruddin Muhammad and the Chief Guest, Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi

(Member of Delhi Waqf Board) graced the occasion. Around fourteen schools participated in the

competition. Horizonites brought laurels by bagging prizes in different categories:
