Your mission:

• You work for the US State Department. Your boss is trying to determine whether he should issue a travel warning for Americans who wish to travel to Jerusalem.

• Figure out why Jerusalem is ranked in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the World?

• The city of Jerusalem is the location of holy sites for all 3 religions.

Google Earth Tour - Help

1. Pull up these directions and the Google Earth tour (Part 2) from the wiki.

Tips:

- You must be logged in to complete this activity. Admin will not work today.

- Save the original Google Earth tour to the desktop.

Step 1 – Click on the Novell window at the bottom, near the Start button.

Step 2 – Click on Google Earth. It takes a minute to load.

Step 3 - Once in Google Earth, click File in the top left. Then click Open.

Step 4 – Get the file from the desktop where you saved it.

Next, a bunch of thumbtacks will appear on the map and under the PLACES section on the left side.

Pink Worksheet – Click on the Thumbtacks to fly to the location.

Read the cut-away boxes to complete the pink worksheet.

- As you go through each thumbtack, check out the pictures.

-To do this you must make sure that you have the Geographic Web box is checked in the layers section.

-To see the pictures click the small blue boxes.

-You can zoom in and out using the + and – signs in the upper right.

Click on the Yellow thumb tack to create a cut-away box.

To save:

1. Right click on the file Monotheism Tour part 2

2. Choose SAVE AS

3. RENAME IT

4. Save it in your student folder or on the desktop and upload it on the wiki.

State Department To Do List

• 1. Complete your research on the three religions.

• 2. Add cut-away boxes.

• 3. Shut down and return to your regular seat when the timer goes off.

• 4. Complete closure in your notebook.
