DIRECT TEST CONNECTORS

DIRECT TEST CONNECTOR SOLUTIONSThe Elastimold Direct Test System (EDTS) may be just the step you are looking for to supplement your present isolate, test and ground method-ology. EDTS includes an insulated port on the separable connector providing a direct path to the conductor. The port, along with a 200TC series meter adapter, provides a means for direct conductor voltage testing.

An insulated and shielded cap covers the port in normal operation. Once the circuit isde-energized and isolated by switching, the EDTS test can be used along with your normal procedures. An example of the EDTS couldinclude the following steps:

• An approved Elastimold adapter is attached to the appropriate medium/high voltage direct test meter on an appropriate line stick.

• The cap is removed using a line-stick.

• The spring-loaded pin (to assure contact with the conductor) of the adapter is inserted into the port until the adapter is fully seated on the port.

• The direct test reading is made to assure the circuit is de-energized.

JACKET SEAL ELBOWS

JACKET SEAL ELBOW SOLUTIONSElastimold makes installing loadbreak elbows on jacketed concentric neutral cable as easy as it gets. The Elastimold JS-style loadbreak elbows have a built-in jacket seal for quick and convenient grounding, sealing, and jacket restoration.

With the investment in jacketed cable, it only makes sense to protect that investment bysealing the jacket where the cable is terminated. Elastimold offers two options, our ECS cold shrink tube kit and our LRJS jacket seal elbow.

The jacket seal elbow, now available in both 15 and 25 kV, 200 amp loadbreak, provides the industry’s best choice. Because the seal is part of the elbow, there is no need for a separate cold shrink tube. There is only one seal to make and one set of mastics to install. And, the seal is always perfectly positioned. These advantages make the LRJS series a more cost effective choice than elbow/cold shrink tube systems.

All our Separable Multi-Way Cable Jointsystems have three very important features:

The standard interfaces allow you to connect pieces in an endless variety of configurations, so you can create a solution to your individual needs. They include sectionalizing capabilities not available with other conventional termina-tion systems, making them more cost effective as well as more flexible. L-KITSThe L-Kit system utilizes 600 series elbow cable termination with 600 series connecting plugs. Each cable is terminated with an elbow. They are then stacked and joined together with a connecting plug between elbows.

J-KITSOur J-Kit system utilizes the same 600 series elbow cable terminations with 600 series 2, 3 or 4-way junctions. Each cable is terminated with an elbow and joined together on the junction.

VSL-KITSThe VSL-Kit system adds a special 600 series double-ended elbow cable termination (vault stretcher) to the L-Kit system. Two cables are terminated with the special double-ended elbow. Three cables are terminated with the special double-ended elbow, a connecting plug and a 600 series elbow. Four cables are termi-nated with two special double-ended elbows and a 600 series connecting plug.

COMPACT I, Y AND HFinally, the Compact I, Y and H system utilizes the 600 series straight receptacle (SR) cabletermination, an adapter-retaining ring and a special 2 (I), 3 (Y) or 4-way (H) bus bar. Each cable is terminated with a straight receptacle and joined together by the bus.
