Soldier Mountain snowcat area opened to snow machines! he Forest Service’s snowmobile closure on the 1,965-acre snowcat skiing area above Soldier Mountain Ski Area near Fairfield has been lifted! Since guided snowcat skiing is finished for this season, according to Fairfield District Ranger Mike Dettori, snowmobilers now have access to the peaks above the ski area. Snowmobilers are allowed to park in the north end of the ski area parking lot and travel up the South Fork of Soldier Creek to the snowcat skiing area. Terrain within the ski area remains closed to motorized use. For more information, contact the Fairfield Ranger District at 208-764-3202.T

Join the Soldier Mountain Performing Arts Community Youth Program on Saturday, March 26, for Fairfield’s first Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt! Activities and games start at 6:30 p.m.in the Fairfield Park! Little Egg Hunters 0-5 years will start their hunt prior to dusk – about 7:15 p.m. The rest of our hunters will begin at dark, about 8 p.m. Bring your flashlights and baskets for a super fun Easter Egg Hunt. Our friend The Easter Bunny will be hopping by to visit everyone!

Nicole Stampke suits up for Twin Falls Elite volleyball squad! Will play ultrahüge stadium in Austria!

CHS student Nicole Stampke has been accepted to play for the USA in Klagenfurt, Austria in the United World Games, as a team member for Twin Falls Elite Volleyball. The teams will travel this summer for 11 days to

Munich, Germany, spending two days there before moving on to Klagenfurt, Austria for major volleyball action. Nicole will be playing in a mammoth coliseum on a 17U volleyball team! Afterward, the tour will journey on to Venice, Milan and Como. ❦

Last week, the Camas PTO sponsored a full-day visit, including an all-school assembly, by the Boise-based STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) educational team, augmented with a bend-in-the-middle lab bus, for a knockout day of demonstrations and hands-on experiential encounters.
