How beautifully have they made a comeback-- a resolve that was made just a year and a half ago, is slowly but surely being accomplished. The New year brought an excellent board result for our class X. Three positions in the board and 100% result.14 students out of a strength of 36 secured 100% marks in Maths and 5 in English. The reopening of the school after the winter vacation on 1st March 2012 saw the place under a very thick blanket of snow and freezing conditions with all the water pipelines frozen. They dug out the frozen water pipeline from under deep snow and soil (150mts) to ensure that the water supply to the school was restored. The students and staff enjoyed rolling up the snow into beautiful, innovative snow structures with a message, as part of the Annual Inter-House snowman making competition in which the staff also participates. On 12th of April, nearly 400 students took part in the Annual Cross Country Run, as the students run up the mountain from Shajimarg to Kawnaar and back. With 750 students now the Kashmir Valley School has stepped into its Eight year, the pride of place being our class X batch of 2011 who bagged (two places) in the Merit for the first time and 100% pass result. The first school activity was the short ski course for girls and boys in which 53 students took part, beside those who went for the long (15 days) course during winter in February 2012. As the valley woke up from its winter slumber, we had (489 students girls & boys) from Class I to Class X climbing up Shankaracharya Hill for the Cross Country Run. Our Tree plantation, Calligraphy and Unit-I test were completed on time as per our school calendar. th The Kashmir Valley School Investiture Ceremony on the 10 of April 2012 was graced by Mr. Aamir Ali OSD to the Divisional Commissioner. This year the School Captain is Wafa Jallu, Vice Captain (Boys) is Mehran Rashid & Vice Captain (Girls) is Insha Shakeel. Classes KG / I had their first Train Experience on the 02-04-2012 when they travelled from Budgam to Qazigund & back. It was worth all the effort just to see the smiles on their faces & the excitement every time the train passed over a bridge. We have grown from strength to strength and have a long way to go still, but with our perseverance and zeal, I am sure the journey will be a happy and fruitful one. Samantaroy (Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar & Chairman of Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson Society). Mrs. Salima Hakak (MGS Ex-Student, Batch 1957), Mrs. Aisha Bhat and Mrs. Lily Samantaroy were the Guest of Honor of the event.240 students from four Departments were confirmed as the Captains and Helpers. The Captains and Helpers took an oath before the distinguished guests to uphold the highest standards of discipline.

The ability to think critically and creatively fosters success in life. To this end, The Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society has established a tradition of academic challenge and personal support. The tradition begins with a comprehensive curriculum taught by highly qualified faculty in a supportive environment.The Mallinson School has brought laurels in the Board Results as a Glorious Beginning of the Centenary Celebrations. Out of 87 Merit Positions of Secondary Board Examinations of Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society 69 Positions has been secured by girls only. The results were best in the valley with 99 Pass Percentage.In Higher Secondary Part-II Board Result our 26 students were in the merit list out of which 17 were Girls' with 91% Pass Percentage.Excellence in academic performance was shown by Aamir Mustafa of Tyndale-Biscoe School and Khubaan Jamsheed of The Mallinson School securing 100%. MAIN COURSE:Every year Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Winter Sports Club conducts two courses of snow skiing- Main Skiing Course and an Introductory Skiing Course. This year the main course was held from 27th January - 12th February 2012 at Gulmarg.This year 118 students were enrolled for various categories, which was the highest number of students ever enrolled for the skiing so far including students from other schools.

At the end of the course a graduation ceremony was held in the school hut during which medals and trophies were distributed among the winners in techniques and slalom. staff visited some of the schools run by CSI (Church of South India) and also visited the historic Pondicherry, Mahabalipuram and Rameshwaram. The staff was privileged to visit Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's residence. During the stay in Delhi they visited some of the schools run by CNI.

TRAINING ON “THE ART OF LEARNING”FOLLOW UP PROGRAMME

The Art of Learning program for teachers of Junior Schools conducted the third phase of rd ththeir trainings in the series of their program on 23 March and 25 March, 2012. 50 teachers

from all the four schools of Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson Society participated in this program. The follow up program included Classroom Observations by the Trainers and their group discussion with faculty of English, Maths, Science and Social Studies.The Classroom observations were undertaken to observe in-class execution of previously learnt strategies, lesson plan and provide diagnostic feedback. The faculty wise group discussion empowered teachers with general and specific aims and objectives for Grades 3 to 5 as central to lesson planning. It was ensured that proper lesson planning would benefit both teachers and students in effective teaching learning process.The programme touched all aspects of learning process, from 'knowledge to evaluation'.

he Jammu & Kashmir State Level Inspire Camp was organized by Shri Mata T

Vaishno Devi University, Katra from th th26 - 30 December, 2011. A group of

43 students from Tyndale-Biscoe School and The Mallinson School were accompanied by four teachers to attend the camp. The purpose of programme was to inculcate the scientific temper among budding young minds. The students had a very enlightening interaction with eminent scientists thereby exposing

our students to know a lot about the wonders of science. The participants

showed keen interest in attending the sessions and got an opportunity to broaden their vision about future career in the different fields of science and technology. On the last day there was a valedictory function in which students were given Certificates of Participation followed by Cultural Programme.
