Limitations1. IBM Hyper-Scale Mobility applies to systems located within the same data
center.2. Using Hyper-Scale Mobility to mobilize volumes that are mapped to Unix or
Linux hosts, and are backed-up using IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Managerversion 3.2 or earlier, is not supported.
3. IBM Hyper-Scale Mobility cannot be applied directly on a volume that belongsto a consistency group. Before such a volume can be moved using IBMHyper-Scale Mobility, it must be removed from the consistency group.
4. IBM Hyper-Scale Mobility does not apply to volume snapshots. When themigration is changed to proxy state, all snapshots of the pertinent migratedvolume are deleted automatically.
5. IBM Hyper-Scale Mobility does not migrate a volume that is in a mirroringrelationships. Before a volume can be moved using IBM Hyper-Scale Mobility, its mirroring relationship must be deleted.
6. Using Hyper-Scale Mobility to mobilize volumes that are mapped to WindowsServer hosts, and are backed-up using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service, with IBM XIV Provider for Microsoft Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service(VSS) version 2.3.2 or earlier, is not supported. To use Hyper-Scale Mobility in this case, IBM XIV Provider for MicrosoftWindows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) version 2.4.0 or later must beinstalled.
Note: IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Windows is relying onMicrosoft Volume Shadow Copy Service. To use Hyper-Scale Mobility with IBMTivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Windows, IBM XIV Provider forMicrosoft Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) version 2.4.0 or latermust be installed.
7. Using Hyper-Scale Mobility to mobilize volumes that are mapped to WindowsServer hosts, and are protected by IBM Storage Enabler for Windows FailoverClustering version 1.1.0 or earlier, is not supported. To use Hyper-Scale Mobility in this case, IBM Storage Enabler for WindowsFailover Clustering version 1.2.0 or later must be installed.
Additional information may be available from the respective release notes of theproducts mentioned in the limitations:1. For IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Unix and Linux please refer to
release notes of version 4.1 or later.2. For IBM XIV Provider for Microsoft Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service

Fixed issues
SYS-263289An XIV Gen3 system upgraded to code version 11.3.x or higher, using iSCSIconnectivity and SSD caching, may hit a memory depletion condition when
2 IBM XIV Gen3 Storage System: Release Notes for version 11.4.1.a Second edition
maintenance tools (such as XRAY) are run on the modules. This condition mayhave impact on various system management functions and in rare cases could leadto loss of access.
Severity:High impact
Affected version:11.3.0 and up
SYS-263345Data access (FC & iSCSI) to an Interface module may break if more than 350 activeconnections are defined to one of the module's FC ports.
Severity:High impact
Affected version:11.3.0 and up
SYS-263452When changing a pool from thin provisioned to thick provisioned (or vice versa),or when a pool usage threshold (maximum number of volumes and snapshots is12000) has been crossed, data access (FC & iSCSI) of an interface module maybreak.
Severity:High impact
Affected version:11.2.0 and up
SYS-263825On systems equipped with Solid State Drives (SSDs) and the Data-at-Rest Encryptionfeature is enabled, incorrect data (i.e., data that has not been decrypted) may bereturned when a Read operation is attempted immediately after a SCSI Write Samecommand to the same location.
This issue does not affect either systems that do not employ SSDs or systemsequipped with SSDs where the encryption feature is disabled.
Severity:High impact
Affected version:11.4.1
SYS-262008Changing the host type using the special_type_set XCLI command, (or with GUIprior to version 4.3) to type=hpux while volumes are mapped to it could lead to aloss of access.
Severity:High impact
Affected version:11.2.x, 11.3.x

Known issues
SYS-263438After 4377 Hyper-Scale Mobility migrations, the maximum number of volumes in asystem (12,000) will decrease by 1 volume with each new migration.
Severity:Moderate
Affected version:11.3.0 and up
SYS-263482The following new behaviour is not documented on the XCLI Reference Guide.Starting from release 11.4.1.a, application administrators can execute the followingcommands:v mirror_list
v schedule_list
v sync_job_list
Severity:Service
Affected version:11.4.1.a
