We fulfill God’s plan when we share our tal- ents and our financial gifts to help build God’s kingdom on earth. Through our stewardship we sow “good seeds” on earth to ultimately help each other get to Heaven! This Weekend’s Scripture First Reading: Wisdom 12:13, 1619 This passage from the Book of Wis- dom addresses itself to God, giving praise and thanksgiving for his mercy. Second Reading: Romans 8:2627 Paul indicates that since people are, in general, unac- customed to the manner of praying, of speaking di- rectly to God, the Holy Spirit will intercede for them. Gospel: Matthew 13:2443 According to Matthew, Jesus speaks of the “reign of God” in three parables: the man who soweth good seed, the mustard seed, and the yeast. In each par- able, Jesus demonstrates that once the “reign of God” had been established, it grew and spread. ©1999 Bon Venture Services, Inc. Do you know someone who is interested in becoming Catholic?

God works in many different ways, most of the time through ordinary people and events. No matter what a person’s reasons are for becoming Catholic, the Church’s hope and prayer is that whenever God calls them, they will respond.

Becoming Catholic is a process and the Catholic Church has a process called RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) that the earliest Christians used when peo-ple came to them requesting Baptism. RCIA at OLV meets at 10:30 Mass and directly afterwards each Sunday beginning in September.

If you know someone who was never baptized and may be interested in learning more about the Catho-lic Faith, or someone who was baptized but never received Holy Communion and Confirmation and would like to come into full communion with the Catholic Church, please invite them to join us.

Please fill out the below form and put in the collection basket or drop off at the Parish Office. An RCIA Team Member will be in touch to provide further de-tails. Name: _______________________________

RCIA INFORMATION

News from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Our Lord said; “As you have done for the least of my brethren, you have done unto me.” This is the basis of all we do at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We invite you to share in our mission. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance please contact us through the parish office. In the past we’ve helped people with rent, utility, groceries, medicines, special dietary requirements and many other needs. No work of charity is foreign to our society. Each new client case is confidentially evaluated by members of our Client Service Team. In the name of Christ we are here to help and to serve. Please put us to work. The SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program is both a fundraiser and a way to assist those in need. It’s also a tax deduction for you! Proceeds from your vehicle will provide food, housing, medicines and more to our clients in need. Your donation can be directed to specifically assist our SVdP conference here at OLV. Your vehicle will be picked up quickly and you’ll receive a tax receipt within 45 days. For more information call 800 322-8284 or visit: http://www.svdpusa.com/Donate-My-Car Food Pantry: All non-perishable food and toiletry items are gratefully accepted. Donations can be left in the church lobbies after any mass. Presently we are in need of soups, canned or packaged fruit, canned tuna & chicken.

Caring and Sharing—Homebound We are looking for dedicated parishioners who would like to visit our homebound. All you need is time to talk, listen and pray with them. It is a wonderful experience. If in-terested, please contact

Barbara Rojewski (732)- 238-1742.
