GENERAL SESSION

25 Years of Design-Build: A Conversation with DBIA’s Founding FathersIn 1993, five A/E/C leaders met with a mission—expanding design-build. Even they couldn’t have predicted the industry would be where it is today. Design-build is no longer an “alternative” delivery method and the associa-tion they created is leading our industry to new heights. This distinguished panel including Kraig G. Kreikemeier, DBIA; Richard M. Kunnath, R-DBIA, P.E.; Donald G. Warren, DBIA; Jim Gray, R-DBIA; and Preston H. Haskell, R-DBIA, P.E. reunite to talk about their vision for design-build—then, now and into the future.

Friday, November 9

Why Culture, Teams & People are Tomorrow’s Killer AppsRich KarlgaardForbes Publisher and Global Futurist

Artificial intelligence and the “Internet of Things,” drones and driverless cars, global smartphone ubiquity and social commerce—the storm of technologi-cal change never stops. What can smart companies do to “future proof” their businesses against such disruption? Rich Karlgaard, publisher and futurist of Forbes magazine and author of two best-selling books on high-per-formance companies, has identified culture, teamwork and people as the

“magic triangle” of sustainable competitive advantage in a fast-changing world. In this presentation, he will explain how great organizations put cul-ture and teamwork at the core of their operating principles.

Giving Back to the CommunityDBIA strongly believes that we have a social responsibility to make the world a better place. So, in each city we visit, we leave a little bit of our-selves by adopting a charity. This year we have chosen Second Harvest Food Bank, a non-profit organization that is leading the fight against hunger in South Louisiana. By simply adding $5.00 to your registration fee, you can help make a difference. 100% of your contribution will go to Second Harvest Food Bank http://no-hunger.org/
