ISLAMIAH COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS)VANIYAMBADI

Islamiah College (Autonomous) was established in 1919 by the benevolent Vaniyambadi Muslim Educational Society. It has crossed several milestones and now sitting prettily among the very few premier institutions in the state. Our College is situated in the prosperous leather town called Vaniyambadi which is 65 km away from Vellore. The college has been reaccredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC. This epitomizes the high standard of education and top quality of Research attached to this campus. At the outset the College renders yeomen service to the rural and downtrodden society.

DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY & INFORMATION SCIENCE

The College Library was established in the formative years of the College. It has a collection of more than 75,000 books relating not only to the subjects taught in the College, but also many rare collections on philosophy, logic, politics and languag-es. The fully computerized library functions on the basis of Open Access System in which the students and sta� have unlim-ited usage of the treasure trove. Our Library has enabled with Wi-Fi Connectivity. The library subscribes 175 National/Interna-tional Research Journals, Magazines and 11 dailies. The college is subscribing nearly 1.25 Lakh e-books and more than 5 thou-sand e-journals through INFLIBNET & DELNET. The Library has NPTEL e-learning video courses and DSpace software for Islamiah College Repository system. It has a VIRTUAL LIBRARY service in a separate block.

ACADEMIC LIBRARY ASSOCIATION (Formerly IALA)

Academic Library Association renders its service for the Library Science Professionals development and extend its service to Colleges, Universities for conducting Programmes. ALA Recently submitted its grievances to the UGC Pay review committee. It is bringing out Peer reviewed journal ‘IALA Journal” from 2013 (UGC Recommended) and signed MoU with many academic institutions. Academic Library Association is organizing Seminars/Conferences with the Libraries of academ-ic institutions. ALA honoring the Young Library Science Profes-sionals and the seniors with “Best Librarian Award & Lifetime Achievement Award”. It is also conducting Dr.S.R.Ranganathan Birth Anniversary Essay Competition and coaching classes for NET/SET Exam.

To orient and familiarize on Quality Parameters and challenges and opportunities to enable the quality of Library and information sceience environmentTo impart knowledge and skills on library standards and accredi-tation

CALL FOR PAPERS:

We invite quality research papers on the below mentioned topics and on the related �elds for presentation. The articles must be neatly typed with DOUBLE line space in A4 size paper, the font being Times New Roman of size 12, References as per APA style. The papers should be e-mailed to libcon2018 @gmail.com and the participants need to con�rm their presence through email on or before 15th Jan 2018.

PUBLICATION: All the research papers will be reviewed with subject expert committee. Accepted research papers will be published in the special issue of INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & HUMANITIES with ISSN NO:2394 9236. The journal will be released during the conference.
