About the CollegeMultanimal Modi College is a prestigious co-educational government aided college located in Modinagar. The college was established in 1957 with the aim of upliftment and fullment of the need of higher education for the local public. The college began with a meagre number of hundred students in three streams; Arts, Commerce and Science. Currently eighteen programmes /departments are running in the college and nearly 3000 students are studying in the college in several courses like B.A., B.B.A., B.C.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B. Lib., M.A., M.Sc., M.Sc. (Biotech), M.Com., and M. Lib including Ph.D in each PG subject. The college has NIELIT courses to provide advanced computer knowledge to its students. It also runs Distance Learning Courses (IGNOU & UPRTOU). The college has developed a Central Instrumentation Lab (CIL) under the scheme DST-FIST programme. At present, under the able guidance and supervision of our honourable chairman Dr D.K. Modi and Principal Prof. R. C. Lal, the college is making upward strides towards progress.

About the SeminarIndia is well recognized emerging economic power at the global level. This has achieved through contributions derived from dynamic, creative, energetic and knowledgeable human resources created by scientic-academic-industrial domains and various other sectors of economy. In this light, protection and promotion of creativity and labour is integral and a must for achieving sustainable development.

These creativities, inventions and other such things fall under the ambit of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) which are legally protected as Patent, Copyrights, Designs, Trademarks, Geographical indications etc. These creations can be translated into economic terms and thereby can prove benecial to creator, institution and ultimately to the nation. After notication of UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulation 2018, it has also become very important to disseminate knowledge about IPR laws and related aspect like plagiarism in academia. Thus, the IPR Cell of Multanimal Modi College intends to promote the IP related creations and its protection. To increase IPR awareness, the cell is organizing this seminar for clarifying IP concepts, discuss applications, related issues and other relevant legal awareness in faculty, research scholars and students.

Broad area/Subthemes of Seminar It shall include Copyright, Patent, Trademark, Geographical Indications, Designs, Court judgments on IPR, IP laws/regulations and other related topics.
