Our heart is for you to be involved, becoming an expression of the life of Jesus, touching the world around us. For 2017 our desire is that church would not be just a Sunday experience, but that we, motivated by love, would increase our kingdom impact in the areas where we live work and play as we fully engage in a life that transforms lives

KidZone:

…Where Kids Connect with God & OthersChildcare at The Rock is called KidZone. What we do is not simply baby-sitting, it is ministry. It is our heart to see children, who are entrusted to our care, connect with God and other kids their age while learning biblical truths. This is why we use “Lil’ K” and “Kidmo” at KidZone—these curriculums provide fun and age appropriate activities that teach kids the transformational truth of God’s Word through multimedia, games, crafts and discussions.

To register for KidZone: • Visit our web site at www.therock.org/kidzone• Select appropriate age group for your child and you will be taken to the form to register your child. • You will need to complete one registration form per child per class and payment is required at the time

of registration.

Life Events:Baby DedicationsThe Rock dedicates babies & children in our 9am and 11am services. A Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes entire families, make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways. Baby Dedication is not Baptism. Baptism is an outward expression of an individual’s choice to follow Jesus Christ (a decision that cannot be made for a child by his or her parents). Please contact Sharon in the church office to reserve your child’s place for the next Baby Dedication at 303-688-0777 ext. 200 or [email protected].

Transformation Sunday (BAPTISMS)Baptism is more than just “getting wet”. Baptism does many things:• it declares your faith,• it shares Christ’s burial and resurrection,• it symbolizes your death to your old life,• it announces your new life in Christ,• it is a celebration of your inclusion in God’s family.

If you have not been water baptized this is the perfect opportunity. If you are interested, please contact us so that we may include you in our “Baptism class,” which will prepare you for this life-changing moment.

Baptism classes will be held one week prior to baptism date. Reserve your place by emailing Sharon Guerra at [email protected]

Life Groups:Next series will begin February 12 using the “God is Good” book by Bill Johnson

Life Groups exist to create an environment for people to connect, share, learn, grow, and to be encouraged. We believe that life is better together, therefore we invite everyone to join a group and plug-in. God always meant for us to be in community.

OrganizationWe have three different types of Life Groups that you can join. You are free to join as many of the groups as you’d like, and are free to move between groups until you find the best fit.

Fire HouseFire House groups are interest based groups designed to ignite the fire within each of us. Joining together with others around a common passion is a great way to connect and build relationships while growing closer to God. If you’re interested in connecting with other skiers, hikers, bakers, etc; contact Pastor Curt at [email protected] to get started.Rev. 12:11a “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,”

Water HouseWater House groups are focused on bringing people closer together and closer to God. These groups share meals, learn from video or written curriculum, pray for one another, and develop lasting friendships. Contact Pastor Curt at [email protected] to get started.Acts 2:42 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

Light HouseLight House groups are intended to equip believers with tools they need to minister to their neighbors, co-workers, and community. These groups will partner with church leaders to train people for the work of the ministry and to bring light to a dark world.Eph. 4:12 “...to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”

Life Groups cont’

Get InLife Groups are one of the best ways to get connected. Whether you’re new to The Rock, or been here forever, you can get more connected with your church family by joining a group.

Get StrongIn Life Groups, we are establishing our spiritual muscles as we grow together. Through prayer and discussion, we are building each other up to be all that God has called us to be.

Get GoingJesus encouraged us to share what we’ve learned and experienced when He said, “Freely you’ve received; freely give.” As the members of a Life Group are strengthened, they’re invited to give to those around them; to take the leap from spectator to participant. By serving inside or outside the walls of the church, we are transforming our streets, neighborhoods, and cities for the Glory of God.

ARISE Women’s Ministry

Authentic Community is the ultimate goal of everything we do at The Rock. Life Groups are where Authentic Community begins.

ARISE Women’s Ministry Life Groups are women who Connect, Encounter and Grow, and Do Life together. They are diverse small groups of like-minded women who are drawn together with the common purpose of getting connected, pursuing God with other women,

and growing in a fun, authentic place. Some meet in homes, coffee shops or any other place that suits the group. Life groups can gather based on a shared interest, others by the desire to go though a bible study together, some serve the community together, and some gather based on a deep desire to be empowered by all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

ARISE Women’s Ministry Life Groups are a great ways to get connected in our church family. We can’t wait to meet you!

No matter your age or interest, whether you are looking to meet friends, a Bible study, an interest group- there’s a group that’s perfect for you!

Go to therock.org/women for more details for this Spring semester groups

CounselingCounseling exists to help you through the process of healing, wholeness, and finding your identity in Christ.

Our pastoral care ministry service is quite different from secular counseling or therapy because it is based on scriptural principles and not simply psychology. Our pastoral care model offers both Biblical life education and Spirit-led guidance for the healing of life’s wounds. Thus our goal is to bring healing, wholeness and purpose to the whole person: body, soul and spirit.

Kingdom Boot CampWednesday; 7:00pm - 8:30pmJanuary 4 - March 22Various Speakers

Join us Wednesday, January 4th as we kick off a new Wednesday night series God has put on our heart called “Kingdom Boot Camp”. Over the next 12 weeks we will dig into each of the spiritual gifts. Not only will we gain a deeper understanding of these gifts, but we will also learn to operate in the Spirit on a moment by moment basis.

God has put amazing desires in our hearts and has ordained each of our days to walk a kingdom life operating in and through the Holy Spirit on a moment by moment basis! This understanding and train-ing that will be provided on Wednesday evenings for twelve weeks will impact you in every area of your life including your marriage, family, relationships, work, etc… I believe God is beginning to pour out a blessing that we will not be able to contain and that we are now in a time of final preparations. In 2012 Graham Cooke spoke this over The Rock, “Behold the water level is rising and the place of healing is rising with it. Miracles, signs wonders, and raising of the dead to life. All things are possible in the river of my blessing. I am taking the roof of this house. I will stand in your midst and sing over you.” Our response is to position ourselves to receive this blessing. 2017 is going to be a great year!

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ...” Ephesians 4:11-12 This semester we will focus on teaching God’s saints how

to use the gifts of God’s grace through His Spirit. The focus will be on the nine gifts of Holy Spirit as taught by the apostle Paul in the book of 1 Corinthians.

The time will be directed by Holy Spirit in the teaching of the Gifts the little children of God desire. From our teaching, the children will decide which of the gifts they want, and we will begin to build the ability of the gifts within your children. 2Tim. 1:6 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”

The children will understand that they are beginning the process of practicing a new spiritual skill that can take time to develop.
