Brgy Igang and Brgy Guiwanon Nueva Valencia, Guimaras Undergo Post Operation Phase

The PDEA Guimaras Provincial Office led by Investigation Agent III Jyxyvzcky G Escrupolo, together with DILG, Nueva Valencia MPS, CBRP Facilitators, PAO, MHO and the barangay local officials conducted symposium on anti-illegal drugs, anti-criminality and violence against women and children lectures last March 1, 2019 at Sitio Onisan, Brgy Guiwanon Nueva Valencia Guimaras and last February 21,2019 held at the Igang Elementary School.

The representatives of each agency delivered their topics and reminded the community of their role in maintaining their drug-cleared status. The said activity is part of the Post Operation Phase of BDCP which the barangay aims to maintain since they were declared as Drug-Cleared last October 2018 by the Regional Oversight Committee.

PDEA Iloilo and PNP nab 2 Suspects in Estancia Buy Bust

TODAY: The PDEA RO VI Iloilo Provincial Office together with the PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Estancia Municipal Police Station conducted joint Buy Bust operation at 1:30PM today March 6, 2019 at Brgy. Bulaqueña, Estancia, Iloilo which resulted to the arrest of Julie Pagaypay Erecelia alias "Pedring" and Melvin Sales Cordero and seizure of about 2.6 grams of suspected shabu.

Inventory is presently being conducted and cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be prepared for filing in Court.

PDEA Aklan Attends Different Anti-drug Activities and Spearheads Distribution of Certificates of Drug-cleared Barangays

The PDEA Aklan Provincial Office personnel were present during the conduct of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program Orientation last March 4, 2019 attended by participants from sixteen (16) barangays of Kalibo, Aklan followed by Film Showing at the Ati-atihan Country Inn.

Meanwhile on March 5, 2018, the same team together with Mayor James V. Solanoy of Nabas, Aklan, P/Cinsp Jerick Vargas, COP of Nabas MPS & MLGOO VI Atella P. Velasco distributed and issued the certification of nineteen (19) barangays declared as Drug Cleared of Nabas, Aklan.

Today, March 6, 2019, the team attended the Provincial Anti-drug Abuse Council Meeting held at the Office of the Governor Conference Room, Capitol Building, Kalibo, Aklan.

PDEA Iloilo Conducts Brgy. Drug Clearing Onsite Validation in Barotac Nuevo

Last March 4, 2019, PDEA Iloilo Provincial Office representatives conducted onsite validation in the Municipality of Barotac Nuevo in connection with the ongoing Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

Barotac Nuevo is a municipality of Iloilo and is composed of 29 barangays. The validation was conducted to determine barangays set to complete the process before they be declared as drug-cleared or drug-free.

PDEA VI Conducts Refresher Seminar on Illegal Drugs

Santa Barbara, Iloilo: IA V Christina D Cabatingan of PDEA VI led the Refresher Course on Illegal Drugs Seminar yesterday, March 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM among the Iloilo Provincial Police Office Intel Branch held at Camp Francisco Sumagaysay, Province of Iloilo.

The seminar focused on illegal drugs modus-operandi and other drug-related activities, aimed to effectively and efficiently carry-out the conduct of Anti-illegal drug operations.

BDCP Orientation Ongoing in Caluya, Antique

PDEA Antique Provincial Officer IA V Ferdenand A Kintanar together with Case Monitoring Personnel Joseph Anthony Yee attended the Training and Orientation of Barangay Drug Clearing Program during the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council Meeting which commenced last March 6, 2019.

The team presented overview of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, salient provisions of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the Balay Silangan Program.

Balay Silangan Efforts of PDEA 6 Continues: Identified Sites to be Utilized Soon

Starting the 1st semester of 2019, together with the initial efforts spearheaded last year, Gretchen Bo-Peep G Giner, Chief Admin Officer and Focal Person of Balay Silangan in Region VI together with other PDEA personnel, has the Program in full force with Mayors in the Region offering support for the much-awaited formal and actual opening of the sites within the first half of the year.

Last February 20, 2019, the Mayor of Janiuay, Jose Lam de Paula and PDEA met to discuss possible facilities to be utilized for the accomodation of persons to be rehabbed. A day prior, February 19, 2019, the Mayor of Tapaz Capiz, Roberto Palomar and Mayor of Miagao, Macario N Napulan, whom PDEA met last March 1, 2019, have discussed the implementation of the program, as well as the possibility of neighboring municipalities to be accomodated in the meantime at Tapaz Capiz Reformation Center. Present during the discussions were the Municipal Health Office and Chiefs of Police. Future discussions with neighboring municipalities of Tapaz Capiz including Dumalag, Dumarao, Cuartero, Jamindan and Pan-ay has been initiated for their drug personalities (pushers) to be enrolled in the facility.

PDEA also proceeded to the municipalities of San Enrique and Pototan which are neighboring municipalities of Passi City, under Mayor Jesry T Palmares. The Passi facility was again visited last March 5, 2019. Prior meetings with Mayor Palmares also elicited positive response in the possibility of housing eligible personalities to be accommodated in Passi City Reformation Center, which is actually a Red Cross Facility.

An Oversight Committee Meeting is tentatively set on March 12, 2019 to discuss roles and functions of each member-committee once the program becomes fully operational.

Balay Silangan is a national drug reformation program which offers temporary refuge with the objective of reforming drug offenders into self-sufficient and law-abiding members of society.

PDEA-6 Interdiction Team Attends Joint Port Management and Facility Security Advisory Council Meeting

Iloilo City: The PDEA Seaport Interdiction Team attended the joint Port Management Advisory Council and Port Facility Security Advisory Council meeting held at the Highway 21 Hotel, Gen. Luna St. Iloilo City last Friday, March 8, 2019 at 8:30AM.

PDEA was also presented a Certificate of Appreciation for the support augmented to the PMO during the arrival of the M/V Pacific Venus at Iloilo Commercial Port Complex last January 26, 2019 carrying some 720 Japanese tourists for the Dinagyang Celebration.

PDEA and PNP Intensify Efforts as Boracay Tourism Pushes Forward, Pusher Caught Off-guard

Early afternoon yesterday, March 9, 2019, Dominador Villanueva Agustin Jr, alias "Ador/Junior", of Oyo Torong St., Kalibo, Aklan falls into the hands of the operatives as he was caught selling suspected Shabu at around 1:30 PM at Boracay Station 2, Brgy Balabag, Malay, Aklan.

The successful joint buy-bust operation was initiated by PDEA Aklan Provincial Office, led by IA V Christina D Cabatingan, Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Chief Inspector Frensy C. Andrade, Malay and Kalibo MPS, as well as the Aklan HPG and Provincial Intel Branch.

The suspected pusher was staying at Señerez Compound, Station 2, Boracay Island, when he was also caught selling suspected drugs.

Recovered from his possesion were three (3) pieces Php1000 peso bills marked money in exchange for a sachet of suspected shabu.

Cases for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing in Court against Agustin.

Western Visayas Seaport Interdiction Efforts Continue

Last March 7, 2019, the Seaport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (SIDITG-6) conducted Paneling/Inspection at Fast Craft Terminal at Brgy. Loboc, Lapuz, Iloilo City.

The ongoing and intensified seaport interdiction efforts is to ensure that no drugs will enter port of entries of Western Visayas.

Said initiative and undertaking is somehow effective so as to deter would-be transient drug peddlers who are planning to enter Panay area.

No illegal drugs were seized nor detected during the said inspection.

PDEA Iloilo Distributes Komiks Kontra Droga during Onsite Validation in Lemery and Concepcion

Last March 8, 2019, the PDEA Iloilo Provincial Office conducted onsite validation among the five (5) barangays of Lemery and three (3) barangays of Concepcion, Iloilo.

During the said activity, the team also distributed PDEA Komiks, an alternative anti-drug advocacy campaign material to the Junior Students of Roberto H. Tirol High School.

PDEA-6 K9 Unit/Interdiction Team and SIDITG More Agressive As Ever

At about 3:00 PM last March 11, 2019, the PDEA K9 Unit and Interdiction Team led by IA III Ruenell Butch E Montenegro and Intel Officer II Joemar A Polinar conducted search and seizure operation at Dumangas District Jail situated at PD Monfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo.

19 BJMP personnel along with 23 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were subjected to a surprise drug test by the Dumangas District Jail Personnel. No drugs were detected and all tested negative after the drug testing conducted.

Meanwhile, at around 2:30 PM the following day, March 12, 2019, SIDITG-6 led by PDEA conducted random inspection AND paneling at the Fast Craft Terminal in Brgy. Progreso, Lapuz, Iloilo City.

Newly assigned agents in Iloilo were brought along in order to familiarize them with the duties and responsibilities of the Seaport Interagency Drug Interdiction Task Group.

Further, PDEA Komiks were also distributed to the commuting public during the activity as part of the Agency's continuing advocacy campaign.

Lastly, at almost 4:00 PM of the same date, the SIDITG-6 conducted another random inspection and paneling among the boxes of mails and parcels at the Phil. Postal Corporation Regional Office in Libertad, Iloilo City.

Likewise, no drugs were detected nor confiscated during the said inspection.

Stakeholders Convene during Balay Silangan Regional Oversight Committee Meeting

Iloilo City, March 13, 2019: PDEA Regional Office 6 headed by Officer-in-Charge Alex M Tablate together with Gretchen Bo-peep G Giner, Balay Silangan focal person in Western Visayas, convened the Balay Silangan Regional Oversight Committee members including the Police Regional Office, Armed Forces, Department of Trade and Industry, TESDA, DILG and the DSWD to discuss the roles and responsibilities of each member agencies in the pursuit to re-integrate back to society drug personalities who surrendered as "pushers".

Starting from the reformation of the behavior, all the way to training of livelihood opportunities, the member agencies brainstormed more ways to win the war on illegal drugs not just through law enforcement operations but also through reaching out to the ones who are in most need of assistance.

PDEA Capiz Joins Dalagan sa Dao, Hilway sa Droga Event

Yesterday, March 15, 2019, the PDEA Capiz Team headed by IA I Jeanette D Reyes with her team joined the Dao Municipal Police Station Fun Run 2019 with the Theme: Dalagan sa Dao, Hilaway Sa Droga at Municipality of Dao, Capiz.

The run started at 5:00AM and were participated by PCOL Canilo Fuentes, Provincial Director-CPPO, Dao Police Personnel led by Police Captain Efren B. Yu-ing, LGUs, Drug Surrenderers and other staholders and sectoral groups in the province.

PDEA 6 Presents Update on Anti-drug Efforts and Accomplishment during Joint RDC/RPOC 1st Quarter Meeting

Boracay Island: PDEA Region 6 Chief Alex M. Tablate, Officer-in-Charge, together with IA V Levi G. Valmoria attended the Joint RDC/RPOC 1st quarter meeting for CY 2019 at Casa Pilar Beach Resort, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan which started yesterday March 15, 2019 and is set to conclude today.

OIC Tablate presented the Regional Drug Situation in Western Visayas including a discussion on the commonly used illegal drugs in the region as well as the prevailing illegal drug price per province.

The region's operational accomplishments for CY 2018, updates on Brgy. Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and Balay Silangan were also tackled.

Present today were Governor Samuel T. Gumarin of Guimaras who is also the Chairman of RPOC-6 , Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, of the Province of Antique who is at the same time the Chairperson RDC-6, PCSUPT John C. Bulalacao, Regional Director, PRO-6/Vice Chair of RPOC-6, Dir. Ariel O. Iglesia, Regional Director, DILG-6/Head Secretariat, RPOC to include other heads of agencies and members of RPOC Western Visayas.

Senator Loren B Legarda served as the guest speaker yesterday during the opening of the two-day joint RDC/RPOC meeting.

14th BDCP-ROC Deliberation Clears Almost 400 Barangays in WV

Iloilo City: 393 barangays in Region 6 coming from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo and Negros Occidental passed the tough process of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and were finally declared "drug-cleared" or "officially unaffected" yesterday, March 19, 2019 at 1:30 PM during the 14th Regional Oversight Committee Deliberation held at the Casa Real de Iloilo, Old Capitol Building Iloilo City.

The ROC Deliberation of Barangays was headed by PDEA Western Visayas Chief Alex M. Tablate, Officer-in-Charge together with the Police Regional Office, Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Health, together with the respective LGUs.

Out of the 522 barangays in the region which submitted their intention for "drug-clearing, only 393 barangays were able to comply with the parameters and the documentary requirements as set forth by the said Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation.

To date, more than 2000 barangays out of more than 4000 barangays in Western Visayas, or 50% more or less, has already been declared by the ROC as either "drug-cleared" or "officially unaffected."

PDEA Iloilo Attends Barangay Assemblies

Last weekend, the PDEA Iloilo team led by IA I Nicolas C. Gomez were present during Barangay Assemblies held in the City of Iloilo.

Yesterday morning, March 17, 2019, the PDEA Iloilo Team attended the Barangay Assembly held at Barangay Tap-oc, Molo, Iloilo City.

Among the things discussed are the Roles of Barangay Officials in the implementation of Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP), Salient Features of RA 9165, Harmful Effects of Illegal Drugs and Balay Silangan Program.

PDEA Comics advocacy materials were also distributed during the said activity.

Meanwhile last Saturday, March 16, 2019, the team was also present at Barangay Poblacion, Molo, Iloilo, and in the presence of the Barangay Officials, Tanods and its constituents, the Provincial Officer discussed the same topics but expounding more on the significant role of barangay officials in the implementation of the BDCP.

PDEA Visits LGUs for Balay Silangan Sites

Last March 22, 2019, PDEA 6 Chief Alex M. Tablate, Officer-in-Charge together with Gretchen Bo-peep G. Giner, focal person for Balay Silangan Program for Western Visayas met with Mayor Macario Nicer Napulan of Miagao Iloilo as well as Vice Mayor Christy Love Custodio-Margarico of Guimbal Iloilo to discuss about the update of Balay Silangan Facilities.

The Balay Silangan Program is the national drug reformation program of the PDEA which offers temporary refuge with the objective of reforming drug offenders into self-sufficient and law-abiding members of society.

General interventions, like continuing education and health awareness, and psychological/spiritual/physical activities such as counseling, moral recovery, values formation, personal and life skills, among others, are provided under the program.

PDEA-6 Spearheads Simultaneous Implementation of OPLAN HARABAS in WV

ILOILO and BACOLOD CITY: Today, March 29, 2019, PDEA RO-6 maneuvered the simultaneous implementation of OPLAN HARABAS both in Iloilo and Bacolod City.

The nationwide activity was in coordination with the PNP, LTO, LTFRB including both the local governments of Iloilo and Bacolod City, SWAT Teams and Highway Patrol Group, where PDEA Agents and PDEA Chemists conducted Random Drug Testing and inspection among different terminals in designated areas.

A total of 75 drivers from Bacolod City and 82 from Iloilo City were subjected to the drug tests.

As part of the Agency’s mandate towards the achievement of a drug-cleared Philippines, OPLAN HARABAS was organized to undertake measures to prevent our drivers under the influence of illegal drugs from causing road traffic accidents, which in turn, will ensure the safety of the riding public.

The following terminals were subjected under OPLAN HARABAS: 1. Don Benito Q. Acap, Sr. Southern Iloilo Perimeter Boundary Mohon Terminal, Osmena St. Mohon, Arevalo, Iloilo City 2. Ungka Terminal, Jaro Iloilo City 3. Molo Terminal, San Pedro Molo, Iloilo City 4. Ceres Northbound Terminal, Brgy. Bata Bacolod City 5. DAALCO Waiting Station, Brgy. 40 Bacolod City 6. Ceres Southbound Bus Terminal, Brgy. 31 Bacolod City

A total of 157 drivers went through the surprise drug tests and none tested positive after the DT.
