Position: Media Training Specialist
JOB SUMMARYThe Media Training Specialist exists to provide outcome-based education, training and development that meet well defined individual and organizational learning needs, to ensure that all learning in media training is applied in the workplace so that TWR Africa can fulfill its strategic goals.
SCOPE Serving in the capacity of Media Training Specialist in the TWR Africa
Regional Office, Kempton Park, South Africa, and serves other Africa Regions that request assistance.
Reports to the Human Resource Director Designs, develops, facilitates, and evaluates media training materials,
methods, and needs analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASGeneral Consistently upholds the TWR and its global ministry in prayer individually
and corporately. Upholds TWR’s vision “to reach the world for Christ through mass media so
that lasting fruit is produced”. Carries out all responsibilities in a manner that models a servant leadership Provides long-term direction regarding learning needs for staff in the area of
media training.
Training Needs Analysis Conducts needs analyses to determine the objectives of the requested
training Clearly defines target audience profiles and skills gaps so training can be
customized for the participants Presents an assessment of stated and perceived media training needs of
staff in the TWR Africa Regional Office and National Offices to the Human Resource Director for inclusion in the overall learning and development strategy
Recommends training solutions, based on stated and perceived needs and training needs analyses, which meet the media training needs of staff in the
TWR Africa Regional and National Offices.
Training Material (Design & Development) Designs and develops media learning material Ensures that learning programmes follow an outcomes-based approach Designs and develops learning assessments Ensures that any outsourced learning materials follow an outcomes-based
approach
Training Delivery Facilitates media training using a variety of methods suitable to the subject
and the audience Oversees the practical application of the training in the workplace
Training Evaluation Evaluates the effectiveness of the training in the areas of learner
satisfaction, actual learning, and behaviour. Provides recommendations to the Human Resource Director for
improvement of the training, based on the outcome of the evaluations
ESSENTAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE JOB COMPETENCIES Christian commitment, professing personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior. Strong strategic orientation and thinking in the context of the Great
Commission (Matthew 28:19, 20). Commitment to TWR’s mission, vision, strategic direction, core values and
statement of doctrinal position. General knowledge of the history, structure, and operations of TWR and of
partnering indigenous ministries. Vast Media Training knowledge and experience (Minimum three years) Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Development or equivalent. Three years’ experience as a learning and development practitioner Builds relationships with team members and with other work units A high level of interpersonal skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage resources toward strategic ministry
outcomes. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relations across a
variety of cultures. High level of written and oral communication skills and fluency in English. A sense of calling to enable others to fulfill their calling and ministry. A willingness to work as a team member and practice, primarily, decision-
making by consensus with other TWR staff.
