“The sheriff had an escape last week…there were statements made by
certain individuals about their whereabouts which
we can disprove using SRFERS LPR. This is
helping detectives change their technique and their
line of questioning.”Rick Abend, ICE Deportation
Officer
Being an ICE officer I have access to TECS vehicle query screen This is an antiquated system. I was able to log into SRFERS and get the info I needed within in seconds.
Randy Chase“The fact that the average Street cop has access to this is huge”
Detective Brett Rhoades, Chula Vista PD
“I issued a probable cause pick‐up with a vehicle description and license plate for a subject who was involved in a $10,000 theft from the Stone Brewery. We ran the plate in the SRFERS/LPR application to search for possible locations where the suspect’s vehicle may have been previously located by a license plate reader. We received a recent hit on the license plate, directing us to an industrial complex. We responded to the industrial complex and found the suspect in a nearby storage unit. The suspect was arrested within an hour of the distribution of the PC pick‐up. We wouldn’t have known where to search for this vehicle without the LPR hit from SRFERS.”

LPR has helped out on several occasions. LPR recently allowed us to track our target vehicle and develop a pattern of travel which contributed to a very large seizure. Expansion of the LPR program would benefit us tremendously. – DHS/ICE Agent C. Nelson
SRFERS/LPR allowed me to confirm the color and model of a suspect vehicle in a purse theft series. The vehicle is key to my cases and will help me link the suspect to other cases within the series.
