After 15 years, Fatima’s family brought her to Kabul and the doctor successfully performed the operation, now she can walk. According to the doctor, the operation took five hours and he, along with his colleagues, was able to separate her foot from her thigh. According to the surgeon, it was the first operation of its kind being in Afghanistan. “After the surgery, her foot bone was short about by 10cm. It is because her foot was at- tached for 15 years and had not grown as it should have.
