Capacity Building, Coordination and Advocacy for CSOs in
North East India (CCA) is the collective intervention framework
at regional level to synchronize the livelihood enhancement
steps initiated by member partners and CSOs. Project activities
under CCA enabled Jirsong Asong, Tezpur Social Service
Society, Diocesan Social Service Society, Imphal and AIDA to
strengthen the Civil Society Organization (CSOs) in order to
achieve family level food security.
Capacity building improves the effectiveness of organizations at
micro and macro levels and enhances the performance of an
organization to function and continue to stay relevant with the
rapidly changing environment.
In the reporting period, capacity building enhanced the staff,
improved their performance and achieved the desired objectives.

Social auditing is a way of measuring, understanding, reporting
and ultimately improving an organization's social and ethical
performance. A social audit helps to narrow gaps between
vision/goal and
reality, between
efficiency and
effectiveness. It
is a technique to
understand,
measure, verify,
report on and to
improve the
social performance of the organization. Social auditing is done
with the aim of effective implementation and control of
irregularities; assess the outcome more than the outputs. 13 staff
from partner organizations participated in the training conducted

Resource mobilization refers to all activities involved in securing
new and
additional
resources for the
organization. It
also involves
making better
use of and
maximizing
existing
resources.
Mobilizing resource is one of the main challenges for
NGOs/institutions to ensure sustainability. One requires a lot of
time and skills to seek resources from different sources and the
pressure to mobilize resources may lead the organizations to use
methods that compromise the values of their work. Hence to
capacitate partners a one day regional level training on Resource
Mobilization was organized at Social Forum, Guwahati to discuss
Synergy:
Training on Social Auditing for key staff partners (TOT)
Resource mobilization
how funds can be mobilized, fund mobilizing strategies and to
identify different sources of funding both international, national
and local.
The training enabled the partner organizations to
understand the importance of resource mobilization
It enhanced their knowledge on fund mobilization
strategies, and various agencies from where resources could be
mobilized
Plans are made for improvement and scale- up of products
and services the organization currently provides
In today's scenario of farming, farmers' networks to pool ideas,
exchange perspectives and learning from each other have become
effective tools for the local farmers to work successfully in
agriculture related activities. Networking with government or
regional farmer organizations is one of the challenging factors for a
local farmer organization. Consultation meeting held on provided
partner organizations with the opportunity for linkages and
networking with different organizations. The knowledge gained will
enable the farmers to boost their revenues and profit beyond their
expectation. Further there will be an increase in production and
marketing opportunities.
