Welcome A NOTE FROM OUR PASTOR

Welcome to our “hybrid” worship service, simultaneously in-person as well as over Zoom. We’re glad you are able to join our church family today as we do what we were made to do together, namely glorify and enjoy God. Here are some details regarding requirements and protocols for in-person worship that we are currently observing: • Singing/Hymns—We will be singing a few hymns in person with masks. • Limited In-person Gathering and Signup—In-person gathering is currently limited to allow

for proper distancing between families, with the remainder of our church family gathering via Zoom.

    • Who Should Come—We encourage seniors and any who may be immunocompromised to stay home and worship via Zoom. Also, if you feel ill, please stay home.

    • Masks/Social Distancing—Masks are required for entry into the building and must be worn while inside (except for those leading worship from the front and children under 3). Masks can be temporarily removed for partaking of the elements of the Lord’s Supper. We ask that you maintain good social distance practices (families and individuals quarantining together staying six feet apart from other families/individuals) at all times within the building.

    • Restrooms—Restroom use is limited to one family at a time. Please be as expedient as possible out of courtesy to others.

    • Nursery/Childcare—No nursery care is being offered, but selected classrooms are open to take the youngest children there if needed during the service. (Bring a device to stream via Zoom.)

    • Offering—For the offering, a basket is by the exits. Please drop in your offering on your way out (the online option is also still available).

    • Discipleship (Zoom only)—There will be a remote discussion of the sermon via Zoom for everyone, beginning 30 minutes after the end of worship.

    • Evening Activities—At present, we continue to meet for evening discipleship via Zoom. Weekly worship is the center of our life together as the body of Christ, as we meet with God and are spiritually nourished and built up by his Word and Sacraments. Week by week these focus our attention on the Good News of Jesus Christ. We want to do this just in the way Jesus has told us he desires, so in our worship we do what his Word, the Bible, tells us to do—nothing more and nothing less. Warmly, Pastor Fix

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.†

FRIDAY AM MEN’S STUDY The Friday morning men’s group will be meeting via Zoom videoconfer-ence to discuss Francis Schaeffer’s book, The God Who Is There, on Fri-day, January 15, beginning at 7:00 AM. All men are welcome! SATURDAY AM WOMEN’S STUDY All women are warmly invited to study The One Year Book of Hope by Nancy Guthrie on Saturday morning, January 16, at 10:00 AM. There is no preparation needed and you don't need to own the book. However, if you do have the book, we will be reading from page 212. MEET & GREET WITH EINFELDS AND FAREWELL TO GORDONS—SATURDAY, JANUARY 16 The COVID-19 pandemic has limited our fellowship opportunities as a congregation. Recently, Kathleen (Barbee) married Duane Einfeld and relocated to Maryland. Many in our congregation have not had the opportunity to meet her. In addition, Brad and Julie Gordon will be relocating to Alabama before the end of January, and many will want to bid them a fond farewell. Please join us to welcome Kathleen and to send the Gordons off with our love. Your cards and notes of encouragement are also wel-come, and baskets will be provided to receive those. For social distancing purposes, we will hold this gathering at the church on Saturday, January 16, from 1:30-5:30 PM in small, socially-distanced groups, with masks. Select a time slot using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4fabac28a02-blest.

Each time slot will allow 15 minutes with the Ein-felds and 15 minutes with the Gordons. Please arrive a few minutes early and plan to leave when your time slot has ended. Dress warmly as the windows will be open. If you are not feeling well or have any symptoms of contagious illness, please stay home. If you have any questions about the health safety measures, please contact Irma Cripe at irmacripe@ gmail.com. SATURDAY AM MEN’S STUDY The Saturday morning men’s group will be meeting via Zoom videoconference to dis-cuss Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, on Saturday, January 23, beginning at 8:30 AM. All men are welcome!
