Elementary Week 1 November 4/5, 2017 Bottom Line Celebrate what God has done!

For this weekend, the Elementary kids will be packing a bag (or two) for the kids in the backpack program.

All materials will be provided and instructions given to each campus. Programming is cut short to accommodate packing time.

What’s up, everyone? I am so excited that you were able to join us today for the first weekend of the…GIVING GAMES!

• The cool part about the Giving Games is that it ties into our new series REFOCUS. So what is this all about?

• Have you ever paused to think about everything God has done for you?

• This November at CF Kids, let's have attitudes of gratitude for all God has blessed us with.

• We’re going to be challenged to be EXTRA THANKFUL through the Giving Games!

• Each weekend from November 4th-19th, every CF Kids service will include fun games, activities, or serving opportunities to challenge us to be THANKFUL!

• You’ll receive a special card that will be stamped as you participate in the Giving Games. Get four or more stamps and you’ll receive a special prize!

• And then at the end of the Giving Games, we’re going to have a FINAL CHALLENGE! It’s going to be loads of fun so you’re going to want to be here EVERY WEEKEND!

• That was a lot of info, so now let’s slow it down a little and start off with some prayer!

Guess what? Today is our first serving opportunity for the Giving Games! And since you’re here and will participate, you’ll get your first stamp! We’ll get back to that a little later on.

Refocus_Lesson I don’t know about you but I’m excited for Thanksgiving. On the count of 3, can you shout out you FAVORITE food to eat on Thanksgiving? Ready? 1…2…3! (Wait for response)

• All of that food sounds delicious! Now Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks to God, but the truth is that I think if everyone in this room is being honest, I’m not the only one who forgets to say thanks.

• In fact, I’m pretty sure we all face moments when we know we’re supposed to say thanks, but for one reason or another, we don’t.

• Or maybe we’re so focused on ourselves that we’re completely oblivious that someone is helping us in the first place.

• Which leads us to our Bible story today. Check it out!

Refocus_Logo_Slide If we were to stop and think about it, we could think of TONS of things that God has done for us.

• We could think of all the ways He takes care of us and shows His love for us, like a full stomach, a warm bed, a toy to play with, and a hand to hold.

• God does all of that for us. And we should celebrate it. In fact, that’s our Bottom Line for today!

Say it with me…Celebrate what God has done!

• God loves us, He gives to us, and He takes care of us. We have so much to celebrate! Let’s shout for joy to celebrate what God has done!

• On the count of three everyone shout, “Joy to the Lord.” One, two, three! (Wait for response)

• We can celebrate all that God has done in more ways than one. We can pray and thank God for the things we have.

• We can tell others about all the things God has done for us. We can also celebrate what God has done by doing things for other people.

• There are MANY ways to celebrate the MANY things God has done for us.

Worship is more than just singing songs. It’s a time we think about all God has blessed us with, and we respond to it. Some ways we respond is by singing, praying, giving our best, and giving back through our offering. If anyone has offering, please place it in (Indicate area). Refocus_Announcements

Refocus_November Family Mission_Slide Every good and perfect gift comes from God. The Bible tells us that God loved the world SO much that He GAVE His own son, Jesus, to save the world from their sin!

• We can learn to love and give to others because God loves and gives to us!

• For the months of November and December, we are showing the love that God has shown us through our Family Mission, Love Gives!

• We are asking that you and your family purchase one of the gifts listed on one of the Christmas tags located on the Love Gives Christmas tree!

• Then, bring the UNwrapped gift to church and place it under our Love Gives Christmas tree.

Today you can also sign up for Baptism class! Now baptism might seem a little scary when you think about getting dunked in the water! But I promise it’s safe and it’s VERY special!

• Baptism is a time that you’re telling others that you are part of God’s team! You’re showing that you’ve accepted Jesus’ forgiveness for your sin and are ready to follow Him with every part of you.

• If you’ve made that decision, sign up for Baptism class today!

There are some kids in our community who don’t have enough food at home. Our church partners with a GREAT organization called Caring for Miami. Our friends at Caring for Miami pack food for the children to take home in their backpacks each weekend!

• And guess what? We get to serve kids in the backpack program by packing some food for them today!

• When you pack a bag, you’ll get the FIRST stamp for the GIVING GAMES!

• That means that you only need 3 more stamps to get a special prize!

Way to give back to others! Before we leave today, we are going to pray over the bags we packed! Lead kids in prayer. Make sure packing event is stamped on the kids’ cards.
