Reflection on Assesment Session

1
Dear ma'am, The last session was definitely a introspection session. A very helpful session to understand "what should we do and why". I thoroughly enjoyed it. Here's my reflection on it. Please guide me if i am missing on anything or my understanding is not up to the mark. The last session gave me a new insight. I was able to connect it with the 7 habit- See, do, and get cycle. If we see something, we need to do something about it and if we do it then only we get the results. Quantity should not overlap quality. Do things which stays with the students throughout their journey of life. Provide information which helps them make connections and apply it in related context. I agree to it that learning outcome is important and the first thing to be thought about while we plan. Teaching is not only about enhancing skills but it also includes development of overall habits. Concepts once taught and assessed doesn’t come to an end. They need to be seeded within. We need to for see things and keep space where we get the time and opportunity to fill the gaps wherever we feel. We need to keep our learner’s in mind and their learning preferences and give them access and opportunity to what we want them to learn. Reply from Beeta maám I am glad you could connect to the importance of assessments in PBL. Critical thinking stems from pausing, reflecting, and knowing "how" and "why" learning should be happening at that moment. Our students need us to be excellent teachers and memorizing content will not help them to become critical thinkers. As teachers we should be their mind readers and design their learning (Teacher as a designer-- Ron Berger ).Good connections.

I was able to connect it with the 7 habit- See, do,

and get cycle. If we see something, we need to do something about it and if we do it then

only we get the results.

Quantity should not overlap quality. Do things which stays with the students throughout

their journey of life. Provide information which helps them make connections and apply

it in related context.

I agree to it that learning outcome is important and the first thing to be thought about

while we plan. Teaching is not only about enhancing skills but it also includes

development of overall habits.

Concepts once taught and assessed doesn’t come to an end. They need to be seeded

within. We need to for see things and keep space where we get the time and opportunity

to fill the gaps wherever we feel. We need to keep our learner’s in mind and their

learning preferences and give them access and opportunity to what we want them to

learn.
