Since the 9th of May 2016 flooding and mudflows triggered by heavy rains have affectedmany Sughd Province districts in north-western Tajikistan, with damage to households,roads, bridges, local agriculture and livelihoods being reported. Furthermore, during the 16-18 of May period the latest rainfall episode has reportedly made the situation worse. Thisactivation concerns several lateral valleys along the Zerafshan river in the Panjakent District.The present map shows basic topographic features derived from public datasets, refined bymeans of visual interpretation of pre-event imagery.
