I’ve worked with Ben as his supervisor while he filled the position of Technical Support Specialist I (TSSI) in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Customer Support Center (CSC) since the Fall 2010 semester until present. The position of TSSI primarily consists of customer service while performing technical troubleshooting on workstations, network, mobile devices, and software support. The position demands quick thinking and agility to adapt to the needs of the situation and minimize impact on the instructional environment. Ben worked with users that had various technology proficiency and roles within the campus. He showed he was at ease adjusting to the users different roles (from student to VP level) and knowledge level during interactions. I’ve had only positive experiences with Ben’s work and professionalism. While on our team Ben impressed me with his excellent communication skills and he works well in a collaborative and group environment. While in the office and as a campus community member, Ben took extra time during the day to greet peers and colleagues. He put a personal touch in his communications, which helped to foster relationships.
