The 2008 SUV has a strong visual signature, both front and rear, even from 100m away. Two-tone black and chrome headlights* providedefinition and structure to the car. Integrated LEDdaytime running lights add finesse to the design and provide excellent visibility.

CONNECTED 3D NAVIGATIONConnected 3D Satellite Navigation* includes Europeanmapping, 3D city mapping and voice recognition (for radio,navigation and telephone functions). When ordered in conjunction with PEUGEOT Connect SOS &Assistance* there is a three year subscription and the systemhas an automatic and permanent connection to on-linenavigation services (in partnership with TomTom®). Driving a PEUGEOT 2008 SUV makes you want to go on an adventure.The innovative layout of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® offers an intuitive, safeand agile drive; and the connected lifestyle technology and superb roadholding means every journey will be a pleasure in the 2008 SUV.

THE VERSATILESUVGrip Control® is an adapted traction control system whichresponds to most terrains and weather conditions. It acts on thefront wheels by adjusting wheel spin and torque to optimisetraction in low-grip conditions.

Versatile and adaptable, this system has control built in. The Grip Control® dial located on the centre console lets youchoose the appropriate mode for the surface you encounter :Standard, Mud, Snow, Sand, ESP Off. Coupled with 17” alloywheels and Mud & Snow tyres, it is also compatible with the EAT6automatic gearbox. Grip Control® uses electronic components that are already installed in the car meaning that it adds no extraweight and therefore no excessive fuel consumption, unlike atraditional 4x4.

Grip Control® is standard from Allure level, excluding 1.2L PureTech 82.

•Mud :• This “all terrain” mode is suitable for muddy or slippery ground

conditions.• Allows a lot of spin on the wheel with the least grip to allow mud to

be cleared and grip restored.• At the same time, it transmits the maximum available torque to the

wheel with the most grip.• This action is similar to a Limited Slip Differential.• Automatically changes back to Standard mode at 50 mph.

•Sand:• Suitable for loose ground.• Spins the front wheels simultaneously, allowing the vehicle to move

and reducing the risk of being trapped in sand. Automaticallychanges back to Standard mode at 70 mph.

• ESP Off : • Disconnects the ESP and Grip Control® systems.• Gives complete control to the driver.• Automatically changes back to Standard mode at 30 mph.

*Not available on the 1.2L PureTech 82 engine.

GRIPCONTROL®

Grip Control® optimises traction in low-grip conditions. It adaptsto different terrain by acting on the front wheels, using electroniccomponents already present on the vehicle meaning that it addsno extra weight and therefore no excessive fuel consumption,unlike a traditional 4x4. Standard from Allure* level, on bothmanual and automatic versions, it is coupled with 17” alloywheels.

The Grip Control® dial located on the centre console offers five availablemodes :

•Standard :• Suitable for normal road conditions.• Low spin rate.

•Snow :• Recommended in deep snow or on a steep slope.• Adapts the spin of each front wheel according to the grip

available in order.• Automatically changes back to Standard mode at 30 mph.

Park Assist* and colour reversing camera*The colour reversing camera automatically activates whenreverse gear is engaged and allows the driver to view the areabehind the vehicle while the manoeuvre is taking place. Thereversing camera comes with rear parking aid as standard butcan also be ordered with Park Assist for added safety andconvenience. The Park Assist system assesses the size ofspace available to ensure that it fits the dimensions of yourvehicle. Ultrasonic sensors and steering management takeover to manoeuvre in and out of the parking space for you.Acceleration, braking, gear changes and use of the clutch in amanual transmission are left in your control. During entry andexit of the parking space, the system provides you with visualand audio information to ensure your safety.

PEUGEOT Connect SOS*PEUGEOT Connect SOS is now in use in most major Europeancountries, including the UK , and is technology that couldprove vital in an emergency.

Automatic emergency call: if the airbags inflate or the seatbelt pretensioners are triggered, the vehicle automaticallymakes an emergency call on behalf of the driver. PEUGEOTConnect SOS then locates the vehicle, establishes telephonecommunication with its occupants and arranges for theappropriate emergency service to be dispatched.

Manual emergency call: whether the victim or the witness ofan emergency situation, the driver can call PEUGEOT ConnectSOS quickly by pressing the SOS button located on thedashboard (and holding for 3 seconds).

The 2008 SUV offers a range of safety equipment to keep youand your passengers safe.

Active City Brake*Active City Brake technology makes it possible to avoid anaccident or reduce its seriousness if the driver fails to react. It works in urban conditions at speeds of less than 20 mph.A short range sensor is fitted to the top of the windscreen andcan detect other vehicles that are driving in the same directionor stationary. This will automatically trigger an emergencybrake to stop the vehicle and avoid a collision entirely or limitthe consequences of an accident by reducing the speed ofimpact.

AirbagsThe 2008 SUV includes six airbags as standard, offering extraprotection for you and your passengers if you’re involved in anaccident :- Two front airbags to protect the head and thorax of the driver

and front passenger in the event of a frontal impact.- Two front side airbags to protect the driver and front

passenger in the event of a side impact.- Two front and rear curtain airbags to protect the heads of the

front and rear occupants.

In addition, front passenger seat airbag deactivation isavailable across the 2008 SUV range, so that baby can travelin the front seat.

ESPAll versions of the 2008 SUV have a high level of active safetyand are equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Control) as standard. This comprises Traction Control (ASR), StabilityControl (CDS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-wheel lockbraking system (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution(EBFD).ESP is combined with Hill Assist, which briefly immobilises thevehicle, giving you time to move your foot from brake toaccelerator when starting the car on a slope.

CORNERING ASSIST FOG LIGHTS*In low beam or high beam, this function allows the front foglights to illuminate the inside of a bend when the vehiclespeed is below 25 mph. This gives you extra visibility whendriving in town, on winding country roads, at junctions orwhen you are parking.

Automatic Gearbox (EAT6)The 2008 SUV 1.2L PureTech 110 EAT6 S&S is equipped with a 6 speed EAT6 (Efficient Automatic Transmission) automatic gearbox,which optimises fuel consumption and enhances driving experience. This new gearbox uses quickshift technology allowing for faster gear changes and is the new benchmark in terms of drivingenjoyment. Its capacity for energy efficiency is almost equivalent to that of a manual gearbox with reduced friction and lockableconverters in every section to prevent slippage. It has been designed to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and is comparable withthe equivalent manual, making it extremely well positioned in both drivability and fuel consumption.
