IN-SITU TREATMENT : FOR SOILS WITH CBR > 4

Open up and scarify soil base up to 150-200 mm. Spray Terrasil solution in water

to achieve OMC and scarify the soil. Allow the treated soil to dry till the moisture

is < 4%.

Spread specified amount of cement (typically 3%) on treated soil and scarify the

soil. Spray ZycoBond solution in water to achieve OMC and scarify.

The dosage of Terrasil is 0.6 to 1.0 kg / m3 and that of ZycoBond is 0.6 kg / m3

After thorough mixing, the soil at OMC can now be compacted using vibro roller.

The compacted soil surface, should now be spray-saturated with Terrasil +

Zycobond solution in water.

Ratio of TS : ZB : Water should be 1:1:200. Spray rate should be 3 litre / m2 or till

saturation.

Allow the surface to dry.

TREATMENT FOR BORROWED SOIL

Select a borrow area with soil CBR of 6 or more.

Open up and scarify soil base up to 150-200 mm. Spray Terrasil solution in water to

achieve OMC AND Scarify the soil. Allow the treated soil to dry till the moisture is < 4%.

Spread specified amount of cement (typically 3%) on treated soil and scarify the soil.

Spray ZycoBond solution in water to achieve OMC and scarify.

The dosage of Terrasil is 0.6 to 1.0 kg / m3 and that of ZycoBond is 0.6 kg/m3

After thorough mixing, the soil at OMC can now be transported to the site and leveled,

followed by compaction using vibro roller. The compacted soil surface, should now be

Prepare ZycoBond solution in water in the ratio 1 : 100 (for the first spray) and spray on Dust /

Gravel surface @ 3 Ltr / m2 (or till saturation).

A ratio of 1 : 200 and 1 : 300 are to be used for 2nd spray (2nd week from construction) and 3rd

spray (in 4th week from construction) respectively to get best bonding and dust control. Allow the

surface to dry after every spray.

Spray of solution prepared in the ratio 1 :300 is recommended every quarter, in the initial two

years, for maintenance. After two years, the maintenance spray should be need based.
