Objectives to introduce new curricula Current curricula were slightly out of date Teaching staff is overloaded with many

courses Many students prematurely terminated their

studies due to theoretical courses and… Famous Bologna declaration

Brief preview of current curricula

Started in 2000/2001 Outcomes: better results, shorter studies The duration of all curricula was 4 years, with 30

lecture hours per week Educational informatics Applied informatics: system enginnering; applicative

engineering; information systems Industrial Mathematics (only 1 student)

4-year studies leading to diploma in Informatics (Computing) Education and e-learning (20) Informatics for primary school (20) Computer Science (20 + 10) Software Engineering (real :-) (20 + 10) Information Systems (30 + 15) Computer Architecture and Nets (30 + 15)

3-year studies leading to diploma in Information Technologies Intended for prospective IT and ICT professionals Intended also for current students who work as

software developers or system administrators

Internet and Mobile Technologies (50 DL) Computer Networks Administration (50 DL)

But, …

Still many available places for new students on 4-year, and particularly on 3-year studies

Bad advertising (we all miss marketing course )

Strong anti 3-year studies propaganda Many new private universities that offer

computing studies Private universities in Greece and Bulgaria

offer computer science studies
