Success keys

Red.es provides a complete solution with integral support service.

The ultimate objective of the Programme is to provide broadband Internet access to citizens living in rural or remote areas.

Centers are equipped with 4 networked terminals, Wireless LAN and peripheral units (printer, scannner and webcam).

Budget financed by EU ERDF, Red.es, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry and County Councils.

County Councils are engaged to develop training and dynamization activities to encourage the citizens to use these public access centers.

The solution is based on a complete, closed and customizable product. The product is defined by six components:

Rural Public Access Centers - Impact

The programme will benefit 1.300.000 citizens

Currently 781 centers have been installed and 28.714 citizens are already registered as users

A new Agreement is about to be signed to enable further actions during 2005-2008.

The new Agreement aims at further extending the network of Broadband Public Access Centers.

1.500 new Access Public Centers installed in rural areas and depressed urban areas.

Nearly all the Spanish municipalities with a population between 500 to 10.000 inhabitants will benefit from broadband Internet access through the Public Access Centers installed.
