REDEFINING THE DIGITAL EVOLUTION IN WEALTH MANAGEMENT 2015 - HONG KONG 3

WELCOMEOn behalf of Thomson Reuters, we are delighted to be the lead sponsor for Hubbis’ 4th annual technology-focused event in Hong Kong today – Redefining the Digital Evolution in Wealth Management 2015.

The real disruptive potential of mobile, digital, social and cloud technologies and channels is re-shaping the look and feel of wealth management. This is across all aspects of the value chain, from client acquisition to advice to ongoing portfolio monitoring and decision-making.

Banks, along with other financial institutions, need to adapt quickly to keep up with these dramatic changes on the landscape. Or they will become less and less relevant for many of the clients they are looking to serve.

Key participants in the community are coming together today for an event which includes presentations, case studies and panel discussions to discuss key aspects of the market.

The agenda looks at what’s shaping the industry’s future, including: how you can make digital matter; whether the fintech phenomenon has any real substance; crowd investing creating a culture of innovation; driving the digital revolution in insurance; how to keep up with the advisory revolution; and innovation in wealth management.

Hubbis is also video-recording the presentations and writing up content from the discussions - and will send this to you.

Thank you for your support and attendance. We are pleased to be part of this must-attend fixture in Hong Kong’s wealth management calendar, and we look forward to working with you and your clients across the region going forward.

We hope you enjoy the forum.

Everyone is ‘going digital,’ but just what does that mean? Are you making the most of the technologies and channels which exist? How do you need to change the way you think about the business? What impact will the growth of the fintech industry have on traditional wealth managers? Digital is not just a client-facing opportunity – how can firms use analytics and big data to gain a competitive edge? Who will be the winners and losers in 5 to 10 years’ time?

Daniel ChiaCo-FounderCall Levels

Daniel Chia has always been fascinated by numbers. A Cambridge graduate who earned his Masters in Mathematics and Statistics from Harvard University, Daniel spent nearly a decade at Sovereign Wealth Funds and Hedge Funds. He was a key part of the Quantitative Trading Team at GIC, and was a Portfolio Manager at Asia’s largest systematic macro hedge fund, where he built and traded systematic models predicting and exploiting market sentiment and bias. The experience Daniel has gained through his academic and professional career has helped him identify and build a tool to overcome the largest obstacle standing in the way of good investment decisions. “The biggest risk facing all investors is complexity. In finance when things are too complex they tend to blow up.” “Call Levels App is simplicity itself. It offers real-time price alerts, the one service both professionals and the man on the street need, and focuses on making it as accessible and easy to create as possible.” The landscape of wealth management is changing and HNW Individuals are now increasingly directing their own investment strategies. Daniel hopes to create a sweeping change to the way self-directed clients manage their investment views with Call Levels, by offering a free-to-use, fully independent mobile application that expedites market tracking and information gathering for novice traders and experts alike. Self-directed clients, heeding the old adage that “every trade is important”, are now constantly active in the markets and using social media to trade, share and discuss their views with their peers, bankers and relationship managers. Call Levels aims to empower these investors to engage the market at their own pace, bucking the need to constantly watch prices, but still stay alert and informed about their investments, helping them make the best investment decisions possible.
