Armed Forces Flag Day (December 7)
Armed Forces Flag Day was
celebrated in our school to honour
the soldiers, airmen and sailors of
India who fight on the borders to
safeguard the country's honour.
Students were shown a video about the
contribution and selfless service of the
defence forces. Flags received from
Rajya Sainik Board,Govt of Delhi, NCT
were distributed among students who
wore it proudly on their uniform. An
amount of Rs. 26800/- collected by the
management, staff and students was handed over to Cmdre Ajay Saxena,
Director Sainik Welfare cum Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board as contribution
towards ‘Armed Forces Flag Day Fund’. He appreciated the effort of our students
and the noble initiative taken by the school.
Skit on Communal Harmony (December 19)
Students of
classes VI to VIII
presented a skit
on communal
harmony. It was
heart touching.
They portrayed
how people
coming from
different faiths and religious backgrounds can live in communal harmony. The
play commenced with the famous bhajan of Gandhiji ‘Iswar Allah tero naam’.
Everyone appreciated the skit and got the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’.

Christmas Celebration (December 24)
Christmas celebration was held during assembly for classes I-VIII. Students of
classes I-III wore Christmas caps. The assembly started with a soothing prayer.
It was hosted by Tanushree and Rudransh of class V-C. Gavika Dubey gave a
speech on the significance of Christmas. Students of class V sang a song
'Khushiyaan Manao'.
A dance presented by girl students of class II enthralled the audience. Tiny tots
of classes Pre-School and Pre-Primary from Paryavaran Complex danced on the
beats of the popular Christmas song ‘Jingle bells’ which took everyone's heart
away. Students returned to their classes after having a joyful celebration of a
‘Merry Christmas’.

English Recitation ( December 2)
Students of classes I and II participated in English Recitation on the theme
Balanced Diet. They recited beautiful poems emphasizing the importance of

eating healthy food with the help of props having pictures of balanced diet, fruits

Spell Bee ( December 20)
Spell Bee competition was organized in all the sections of classes I and II on
20th Dec.,2019. All the students enthusiastically participated by writing the
spellings of the words dictated by the teacher.

PRE-PRIMARY WING
Spell Bee Competition (December 3)
'Spelling is important because
it aids in reading. It helps
cement the connection that is
shared between sounds and
letters.'
Spell Bee competition was
organized for students of Pre-
Primary. It helped them to
spell using phonetics, learn
sight words and correct pronunciation. Besides words like circle, shapes, legs,
black etc., they were able to spell commonly used words like dustbin, principal,
zigzag and inkpot as well.
Students’ enthusiastic participation and performance was appreciated by
everyone.
Christmas and New Year Celebration (December 24)
Pre-Primary wing celebrated
Christmas with great fervour and
enthusiasm. The entire school
vibrated with the echoes of
carols and wore a festive look
with bells, streamers, beautifully
ornamented Christmas tree and
Santa Claus. Students
participated in activities like tree
decoration, Santa, making
wreaths and New Year greeting
cards. Teachers told them about
Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus during asembly. Students' dance
performance on the song ‘Yeshu Massi ki jai gaaye' was the highlight of the day.
The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots.

Seasons (December 06)
Topic of ‘Seasons’ was explained to pre-
primary students with charts and cutouts
related to the seasons. They were taken
to the terrace and told about the clothes
(cotton/woolen) worn; seasons that are
hot, cold, wet or pleasant; and activities
we like doing in each of these seasons. At
the end of the activity, children were
asked to share their experiences related
to each season. In this way, they enjoyed
learning about the seasons in a novel
way.
Plants Around Us (December 13)
An activity on ‘Plants Around Us’ was
done with the students of Grade 1.
The school gardener, Sh. Anil informed
them about different types of plants -
like trees, shrubs, herbs, creepers and
climbers. Children learnt about the
medicinal value of ‘Tulsi’ and aloe vera.
At the end of the activity, students
were able to name and identify the plants present in and around the school.
Know Your Universe (December 16)
'Our Universe' activity based on the
topic 'Solar System' was conducted
for the students of classes II & III.
They were shown a model of solar
system. It was followed by a
presentation by students of class
III, who using colourful cutouts of

sun and eight planets as their headgears, briefly described each planet. It was
awesome to see them forming the solar system. The aim was to sensitize the
learners about the order of the eight planets, their sizes, names and special
words such as orbit and asteroid.
Means of Transport (December 20)
Pre-Primary students
were taught about the
different means of
transport with the help
of cut-outs of land, air
and water transport.
For spatial awareness, a
lane with the traffic
light was set up.
Children learnt to drive their land transport by following the traffic rules. Air and
water transport were also explained effectively with the help of models.
Children learnt that Airways, which is the fastest means of transport, allowed
travel in the shortest time.
Christmas (December 24)
NEEV celebrated Christmas –
the festival that brings cheer,
by spreading the message of
love and joy. The school was
decorated beautifully.
Students appeared brighter
than ever wearing the Santa
caps. Fancy dress was held for
preprimary and class I students
who portrayed characters such
as reindeer, Red Riding Hood, witch, Tooth Fairy, angel etc. Preprimary students
also presented a dance on a Christmas song. The significance of the festival was
narrated. The joy of celebrating the festival was clearly visible on the faces of all
the children.

A visit was also organized
to ‘Aman Ghar’ to sensitize
children towards the less
fortunate in the society. It was a
life-changing experience in
understanding the reality of life.
One of our students dressed as
‘Santa’ distributed sweets and
gifts to those children. Students
also did an origami activity with their new friends. Positivity and happiness could
be felt everywhere.
Money – Where it came from? (December 24)
Students of classes IV and V presented a skit
to show the importance of money and how
it came into existence. They were told
about the barter system. All the students
actively participated in the activity and
explained different denominations with
their symbols.
