APRIL ATTENDEES officially opened yet so we thank Gary for making the arrange-ments and Mr. Patterson for providing us a private tour. Mr. Patterson dropped by before we left and shared his story and provided some information about some of his charitable work.

Because of the high wind in the area the host scheduled a Bingo game for an indoor activi-ty in the afternoon. The prize for winning went to Donna Bennett. SKITTLES were used as mark-ers and Donna Bennett won the clean Skittles remaining in the bag. At Two O'clock the ladies had their craft session. Peggy Weygandt taught how to make and decorate a plastic see-through plate with a napkin and decoupage.

Dinner was a wonderful homemade potato soup, salad and scrumptious chocolate cake and ice cream.

The DA Award was given to Bill McGuire for putting GAS in his DIESEL motorhome. He called Gary Mabry and told him what he did. Guess he really wanted the DA Award.

The game for the night was "The NOT So Newlywed Game". The selected couples were Rita and Robert Landrum, Steve and Melody Beall and Jerry and Shirley Nelson. The last question asked of the play-ers “was how long that they had been married?” All three cou-ples have been married 14 years. What a coincidence. The first place was the Beall's. The second place was the Landrum's and the third place went to the Nelson's. Games followed

Sunday morning we woke up to a VERY COLD morning but not quite as windy as Friday and Saturday. Breakfast was

assorted rolls and Donuts, juice and coffee. Wendell Carrington gave a short devotion.

"SO LONG" hugs and kisses until next month rally in Kerrville followed.

As we start on our RV travels most of us keep our rigs full of fuel to keep condensation down. Well this month’s recipient of our award must not have done this. He had to get fuel as he was leaving town.

Now this is the story that he called to tell me….can you believe he called me?

Now for the “rest of the story”, he stops for fuel on the way out of town and meets someone he hadn’t seen in years. Of course they start “jawing” trying to catch up on everything that’s happened since they had last seen each other. While talking he is insert-ing the credit card and grabbing the nasal and selecting his fuel to fill his tank. Each finally finishes their busi-ness and after putting the fuel cap back on gets back in the coach and “off they go”.

Back on the road and visiting with his wife they go about 30 miles and the coach starts losing power.

“Dang what’s wrong?” He can hardly make it over the small hills! This is when it occurred to him he may have water in his tank from not topping it off the last time they re-turned home.

Bill McGuire - April DA Award Recipient.

He gets as far as Nocona and pulls to the shoulder, unhooks his car for his wife to drive. It still has no power so they turn their vehi-cles around and head home. He then called the rally host to inform them they would not be able to attend.

Wondering what the power issue was, as he thinks back about what happened when get-ting fuel, it dawns on him that “a diesel motor home will not run very well on Gasoline!!

He realized he chose the wrong fuel hose.

Bill McGuire is our DA Award recipient for the month of April.

“WHOSZAT”

We didn’t get to do the April “WHOSZAT” when at the rally at Coyote Ranch. As a result we’ll do two months when in Kerrville in May.
